Not worth the money.

Firstly, FA in SHTF is silly. FA is awesome, when you've got convo trucks with hundreds of thousands of rounds behind you just waiting for you to reload. FA IS a force multiplier in that situation. In any conceivable "SHTF" all it will really do is ensure you run out of ammo REALLY quick.

Secondly, the slide fire stock is a range toy. They are NOT a reliable combat stock for this purpose. It is not the same as "real" full auto and the mechanics involved are far more prone to breakage and it also requires a very specific hold on the gun, which is NOT easy to obtain in most "fighting" positions, like leaning out from cover, down on the ground in prone, or suppine.

Dont let the sales hype sell you on them for SHTF use. Again, they can be fun at the range, but thats where they should stay. If you want real FA, go the Class III route if you want to keep it above board.

I dont want to come off as harsh, but I see this come up A LOT on other forums and it always ends in saddness.

I agree. You concentrate more on getting the proper grip not siting. Fun toy but it is not practical.

Kindly elaborate.

People buy them, for hundreds of dollars and find out that their application is very limited. Its glorified bump firing.

Thats about it.

That's debatable. I had planned on replacing the wood stock on my Norinco with a Vltor conversion tube and Vltor stock, total cost ~$200. If I did the bumpski instead that would only be an additional ~$250 over the cost of the Vltor setup.

No, it's not. This is much like the AR vs. AK debate. If one has the ammo resources to protect one's other resources then suppressive fire has its place, as well as the ability to establish a beaten zone.

That's what fire discipline is for.

The bumpski appears to be rock solid since it is 100% metal. In all the reviews I haven't noted a single complaint about the bumpski being substandard for the task.

On an AR perhaps, NOT on an AK built properly.

Looks relatively controllable to me. FA FALs and M-14s without an EFFECTIVE muzzle brake are totally useless beyond 3 round bursts, and even three round bursts of .308 can't be kept on target including firing off the bipod (BTDT). I've seen at least one video of someone using a bumpski on a bipod. Here's a 75 rd. drum dump in 7.62 using a bumpski -

That's one opinion. I offer another from Audie Murphy as told to a youngster in a gunstore in Idaho when the kid exclaimed "That's too much gun" when looking at a Model 29 Smith - "Son, when you really need it, there's no such thing as 'too much gun'."

If you want real FA, go the Class III route if you want to keep it above board.

Indeed, everyone should advise BATFags of their activities and whereabouts while paying well into five figures for the 'privilege'. lol

Sadness can also include not having enough firepower when you really need it, and could have had it.
