The new legislation, dubbed the Stop Online Ammunition Sales Act, rests on four pillars, according to Lautenberg's office:
It requires anyone selling ammunition to be a licensed dealer.
It requires ammunition buyers who are not licensed dealers to present photo identification at the time of purchase, effectively banning the online or mail order purchase of ammo by regular civilians.
It requires licensed ammunition dealers to maintain records of the sale of ammunition.
It requires licensed ammunition dealers to report the sale of more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition to an unlicensed person within any five consecutive business days.
Two bricks of .22 ammo and you get 'reported'. lol
IOW, the fucking Communist gungrabbers want to make it near impossible, if not downright impossible, to purchase bulk ammo. The Liar-in-Chief claims he's not interested, but we know for sure he's lying.

We've all speculated that they would do 'gun control' via ammunition..
Here we are..

Which is why having, and knowing how to use reloading equipment with the dies and components for the calibers you own and use. Always pickup and scrounge for used brass, and stockpile primers, bullets and powder.
Roll your own! If and when the commercial stuff drys up or becomes restricted!

He brought more than a thousand rounds into the theater?
Sounds like this law was specifically written to eliminate online ammunition dealers.

Yep, here we are.
Well, first thing that comes to mind... assuming the FRN survives at least another few years- I'm not sure gold will be at $16,000.00, but, I can almost guarantee a single quality round of .308 will be north of $10. Invest wisely.

The Communist in Chief, greatest gun salesman ever; the Communists Lautenberg and McCarthy, greatest ammo salespeople ever.

Joke of the decade, but I don't hear any laughter -
...the president has underlined his support for the Second Amendment to the Constitution. (this quote is a keeper!)
So lemme get this straight - is this 'support' about hunting and sporting pleasure, or is it about one's Creator endowed unalienable right to defend life, liberty, and happiness? Just wanna be clear, don't want any misunderstandings.

I suspect lots of cases of 999 rounds would suddenly appear.

i agree. i do model rocketry with my kids. since 9/11 the estes engines are considered explosives. they used to be way cheap. $11 for 3 of them now. makes it almost impossible to do the hobby on a frequent basis anymore. :(
