Makes an interesting read. The action starts in 1874 and ends 20 years later. The dispute is over four calves valued at $24 and a note that was dishonored. The cost adds up to to well over $20,000.

The moral (if there can be any) ... The money mostly went to attorneys. Handle your own affairs and you get to lose for free. Use professionals and you get to lose twice.

I should mention that the towns mentioned are all local (except maybe for the Green County purchaser)
