I do have a beard, though, and sometimes wear sandals around the house... so I guess the whole seeing me as a hippy isn't too far wrong... ;)

If had devoted less time to personal genital exams and more time to my books, I probably would have been inducted into AOA. But I'm glad I lead a balanced life then - women are fantastic, especially in white. The trick is to be hard, and hard of hearing. Now that I'm an aging fart and married, I'm sure I would be wondering what I missed!
