Remember ... on a linear scale with zero at the center those to the right of center may be poor but not in debt. Those to the left of center may be rich and loaded with debt.

Its funny you mention that cause I always wondered how 2/3 of the planet could live on less then 2 dollars a day. Your analogy explained it quite well

Living in farm country I see many very expensive machines at use in the fields. I know the people who operate these machines to earn a living. If I want to see who owns these machines the Sec of State has kindly provided a UCC database that is searchable by name. I merely put in the name and town of the man I know and the Sec of State gives me a list of the names of those who own his machines. This usually satisfies any urge I might have fleetingly possessed to upgrade my own machines to something more modern (but less owned).
