Whatever. Too weird.

The New York Police Department opened its Israeli branch in the Sharon District Police headquarters in Kfar Saba. Charlie Ben-Naim, a former Israeli and veteran NYPD detective, was sent on this mission.
You don’t have to fly to New York to meet members of the police department considered to be the best in the world — all you have to do is make the short trip to the Kfar Saba police station in the Sharon, where the NYPD opened a local branch.

Behind the opening of the branch in the Holy Land is the NYPD decision that the Israeli police is one of the major police forces with which it must maintain close work relations and daily contact.

Watch the New York branch of NYPD, getting severe budget cuts, despite an overall increase in budget to NYPD!

Why does NYPD need close contact with Israel ?

so they can spy together and say "Oh Vey" together.

to get a good deal on Yarmulke's ? maybe it's part of the Bagel-Yarmulke swap deal.

since Israel basically runs the US gov. - foreign & domestic policy - it's not too surprising.

sort of like opening an office in Washington DC.

Doesn't it just boggle the mind to see what is going on today? If it wasn't for one million and one other stories like this, that are mind blowing, my mind would be blown. I'm like anesthetized to the craziness now.

We have lost it, 100%.

"A republic, if they can keep it", guess we couldn't.

It would make sense if the article said the NYPD went there for training. Israeli Military Science is top notch. I would comprehend that.

I am unable to understand why the NYPD would open a branch. What is the nature of this branch?

I am unable to understand why the NYPD would open a branch. What is the nature of this branch?'Co-ordination of terrorism-investigations. To make sure NYPD follow the 'right' leads. Further NYPD can ask Israeli suspects questions, in the comfort of their own homeland, without having to keep them arrested for several weeks before releasing them.

'Co-ordination of terrorism-investigations.
Propaganda purposes.
Let's see if NYPD busts a Towel Head in the next few months and then touts their Israeli branch as being a player in the arrest.

Also maybe a new TV series for the brain dead.

Israel does not extradite it's citizens here.

NYPD began its 'if you're a muslim you are guilty until proven innocent' crap through Israeli contractor leadership (in this post 911 world, barf). It's only natural they are going there to better learn how to terrorize the local untouchables (protestors, pali sympathizers et al).

Wonderful waste of tax money.

Did a local Police force from America just set up shop in a foriegn country? Where is the Constitutional authority for this? As a matter of fact, where is the statutory authority for this?

Shit, i forgot i am a conspiracy theorist who wants the Government to folllow LAW.

This makes TOTAL sense. They have been enforcing Israeli policy in America for decades, so why not just merge the two?

Funny how in the same week the Israeli Government denied any responsibility in the death of Rachael Corrie, and the NYPD opened up a branch office in Israel using tax payers dollars. IRONY?

NYPD is 'officially' an enemy of this Republic. Not that we didnt all know that.

Probably the other way round,

the NYPD will be teaching Israelis how to accept a bribe.
