And you know what......the fenders on those headlights arent to shabby either. Yep! And for some reason looking at what can be seen of the chassis, my mind says what can not be seen is, the top end is red.

well its good that Mike's ok. Sacrificial side pod. That would have left him stiff for days. You'd be ok right right then but later when the adrenalin fades.

I've seen the Tesla car and chassis at the display in Santa Monica. It looks like a well designed car. There is no motor in front, so of course, the hood section crumbles, but the frame is pretty strong and stiff. I'm glad Mike was ok.

that's the thing about cars - you want a car that can handle a side impact at speed - and that's a heavier car.
one of the reasons i like old Mercedes'.
maybe someday they'll achieve that much rigidity, strength, and passenger protection in a 2000 pound car.
but until then ...
