“What I’ve noticed about today’s move is that the Fed embarked on more QE, but without any pretense, it seems, of economic stimulation. I think this is something that investors, economists and others should take note of.”
This is an excellent observation. Today's announcement was different than the tone of QE1 or QE2 or Operation Twist, for which they had defined boundaries. It's like they were saying "We're not sure how this is going to play out, but we're just going to keep doing this indefinitely until such time that it becomes apparent that maybe we shouldn't, and hopefully somewhere along the line it will help." It's as if they've thrown up their hands and admitted that there's no sense trying to continue putting time limits or dollar limits on the actions, because they have no idea how much time or money it will take, if it works at all.
Check out this from a Reuters story: "In a significant shift in monetary policy, the Fed said it would buy $40 billion of agency mortgage debt per month and pledged to maintain it until the U.S. unemployment rate, currently at 8.1 percent, significantly improves."
Open ended monetization. No pretending. Wow.

I do believe it is. Loved the Little Rascals too. Loved the Carol Burnett Show. Loved Bugs Bunny, Pink Panther and Roadrunner/Coyote cartoons. Just don't make them like that anymore.

I am not surprised at the Fed's announced intentions. The Fed is a cartel, owned by the big banks. It's mission is to save the big banks whatever it costs. The Fed is only interested in fixing the economy to the extent it is good for the big banks. The Fed's job is to get the government as deep in debt as it possibly can. This is what they did from 1913 when they were created until 1933 when the economy went to hell, and the government could not pay on its debt, so the government declared bankruptcy. The owners of the Fed were the creditors in this bankruptcy as of 1933. They took the nation's lawful money (gold) out of circulation. They made a strawman for everybody so they could legally enslave us and never told us so we would give them permission by telling them we 'understand'. They took away all the land, so now we are tenants in our own homes.
In 1933 they didn't give a sh*t about the economy, and they don't give a sh*t about it today. They created a real estate bubble and an astronomical quantity of derivatives, and enough debt that it would never be paid off. And so when our corrupt politicians drive the country bankrupt again by borrowing money like there is no tomorrow, what will the big banks take away from us this time? Everything we have managed to save is what. And they will do it through hyperinflation. And if we don't starve, or get killed by people who are trying to steal from us, they will round us up and disappear us. Does anybody believe this cr*p about the economy improving? They want our lives to be so miserable that we will beg them to restore order. And if we don't we'll disappear in a poof of smoke.
