Nuclear scientists might defend previous ocean dumping by saying “we thought it was safe”. And this may be true. But a previously-secret 1955 U.S. government report (http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2012/06/why-the-ocean-may-not-adequately-dilute-the-radiation-from-fukushima.html)found that the ocean may not adequately “dilute” nuclear materials.
