The US Senate on Saturday passed by a 90-1 vote a non-binding resolution insisting that the United States prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and ruling out any strategy aimed at dealing with a nuclear-armed Iran.
The only senator to vote against the resolution was Republican Rand Paul, a Tea Party and libertarian favorite, who argued that it was a de-facto declaration of war.

another link to this. Maybe this is why they 'pushed' oil down this past week over $10 per barrel.

Rand Paul was the "1". I guess he hasn't sold out to the Neo-Cons completely? I dunno.

Is it just congress that took off until after the election or is this also the last item on senates agenda before they also scidaddle (sp)

The vote seems 9 senators shy of a full deck.

What's infuriating is that Iran has signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty and that shitty little county Israel hasn't and THEY HAVE 200+ nukes.

Here's the map of who has signed and who hasn't.

Did it really matter that Rand voted against it...it passed with flying colors.
Too bad none of their sons and daughters will have to come home in a zipper bag.

general no one really knows how many they have as they have NEVER allowed inspection! and lets remember their running security on OUr nukes as well (so count our arsenal in their hands).
But what is to me most striking is Packistan, that crazy moslem fanatical country has had multiple nukes for DECADES now, and no one seems to mind!...oh, back to the dog and pony show....

Maybe someone should send their sons and daughters zipper bags, as a gentle reminder!

If Rands were the deciding vote you can bet your ass he would have voted for it. He's trying to win back some support from the grassroots, that's all, this was a safe "no" vote.

Article edit for truth:

US Senate votes 90-1 to prevent nuclear Iran
The US Senate on Saturday passed by a 90-1 vote a non-binding resolution insisting that the United States prevent Iran from selling oil in non-dollar currencies, threatening the petro-dollar and the NWO, ruling out any strategy aimed at dealing with a sovereign nation Iran...oh almost forgot 'nuclear Iran' bla bla bla.
The only senator pretending to vote against the resolution was Republican Rand Paul, a Tea Party > (old white clueless people, only worried about their pensions and medicare), a NeoCon favorite who argued he 'first' is only trying to save face with his father and his followers, and 'secondly' that it is a de-facto declaration of war for Israel, the non-NPT-signed heavily armed nuclear shithole.

Obama just needs to tell the Mideast to quit clinging to their guns and religion.

Well perhaps, but it seems to me that he could have voted an even safer 'yes' vote.

Well Rand got the honor to explain what it was, a declaration of war on Iran, thus no further declarations of war is necessary, an attack can occurr at any time the USrael leadership feels Iran is pursuing Nuclear thingamajigs!
