There is such a thing as racial humor that is funny. I can laugh at stuff directed at me. I don't really care that much.

I've definately eaten shark fin, pidgeon, sparrow something or other... nest stuff. Some rather unpleasant looking eggs which I think were bluebird eggs or something. Also I'm 99% I've eaten sweet and sour puss as well. Certainly we did ask questions several times and the place did get shutdown some years later after being convicted of serving cat.

There is an asian delivery guy I've seen around the traps. Has a cat cage/carrier thing in the back of his wagon. Can't imagine what that's for.

I used to have to go into a chinese restaraunt, argue with the dipshits in there about moving their damn vehicles so I could get my car out of the parking lot. Not sure we should discuss the things I saw in there. Suffice to say I was never keen on eating there. There was no hygene in evidence anywhere.

A great dim sum restaraunt I used to go to, until one morning I saw a nice roach wandering up the wall. Was quite the king size. I stopped going. About 6 months later there were photos in the paper after the health inspectors shut it down. Was not a pleasant sight.

Anyway bit of chilli, lots of MSG and no one is any the wiser..... apparently. I check a restaraunts basic hygene when I walk in nowdays. Many don't stack up with even the basics, like a clean restaraunt floor. I have noticed this becoming the trend in restaraunts these last couple years. Most are now run by Malaysians, Indians and Africans. Even the traditional Aussie fast food joints - Burger King is now mostly run by Indians. The state of the floor should be enough warning. If it's dirty where the customer can see, what is it like where they can't?

up here, people shoot deer, gut them, and them up for a week or so before butchering them to "cure" the meat. not sure how that works, but everyone does it. people don't get sick from it either.

Also check the condition of the restroom - the condition of the restrooms invariably matches the cleanliness of the kitchen. If the owner/management doesn't care about the condition of the restrooms you can be certain they don't care about the cleanliness of the kitchen. Many years ago I had the occasion to do some work on a Vietnamese restaurant. (the name was in Vietnamese and completely unintelligible so my guys said the name was 'good shit' in Vietnamese lol). I'm tellin' ya the kitchen in that restaurant was absolutely SPOTLESS - you could have literally eaten off the floor. I was very impressed 'cause I've seen a lot of restaurant kitchens of many different types. Never seen anything like that before then or since.
