I think this is a great gun myself. It's a heavy beasty though and not the nicest gun to look at. Looks busy IMO. With that out of the way they are a great shooter. Very smooth ka-chunka kind of action. Barely any muzzle flip.

I also like the Browning HiPower. Another solid performer and equally as weighty.

These are not carry guns though. Maybe open carry. Definately service pistols. I think the HiPower needs a fair bit of recoil power to cycle smoothly. My only experience was on a well used range gun. I found the lighter loads gave me the occasional feeding issues. Maybe 2 or so per 100 rounds. Heavier loads did better with no misfeeds or other problems. I think the lighter loads were about 115grns, the heavier into the 140 grains from memory. Might have been ~134grns.

For Mod's and such. Check out handgunforums.net or the forum for the brand fans. There is usually a forum dedicated to each brand out there.

Are you set on this pistol? What grabs you about it that makes you want one?

This guy does a lot of YT videos which are mostly good. Here he is comparing apples with oranges in this one but interesting all the same.

Cool. Shame about the town but at least you can still own some. Same sort of thing down here in Oz. It does point very naturally from the short time I used one. If you like the feel of it, you might like the HiPower or the CZ75 as they sit very much the same. I'm not saying there is anything better in those guns because I don't know enough. They are similar IMO and I think the HiPower is the base the CZ75 was build on.

Good luck with it. You ever watch nutnfancy videos on YT?

I personally prefer Sig Sauer P226 for full-size 9mm handguns... although I must admit the 92FS is one of the few guns I've ever sold that I genuinely regret not holding on to. Nice shooter, and easy to field strip. Also really good looking, especially in INOX stainless - if I ever buy another handgun that will be the one.

The Sig is a sweet gun. I'm looking for my next gun and that one was top of the list. Got some research to do because I'm aiming for a IPSC comp gun. Aussies can't really compete at the Open level because of power factor (< .40 cal) and mag cap being 10 rounds. Still they do alright, just have to work much harder.

The X-Five is the current cool gun down here. It was the CZ75 Shadow or Shadow Tac depending on the class you want to compete in. There's about 100% difference in price CZ to Sig. Now I've learnt that we can go .45 in Metallic Silhouette. So that opens a few doors.

ok thread hijack. I'll hand the thread back to the OP.

maybe P226 is a good one, but i like Beretta. Love it is, brain refuses to see anything around.
it is like some people like Ferrari, other like Porsche and so on . Good cars but there is a difference we cannot explain . Like blondes vs. brunettes thing

btw , P226 looks "boxy"

I have one that's made in Italy...Love it!
I put on adjustable sights, recoil rod compensator and Beretta rubber grips.

Sometimes I come across the LEO auctions and a couple times I grabbed Beretta Centurion versions:

Decent shooters.
