As of Monday, contaminated steroids have sickened 105 people with a noncontagious but deadly form of fungal meningitis, while 13,000 people may have been exposed to the contamination. Eight have died. Health officials attribute the outbreak to spinal steroid injections for back pain. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found fungus in sealed vials of the steroid in question, produced by the Massachusetts-based pharmacy, New England Compounding Center (NECC). The NECC voluntarily recalled all of its products on Saturday and surrendered its license to operate until completion of the FDA’s investigation.

The number one reason why people go and have a steroid injection for back pain, is because they have a herniated disc. To begin with it is ridiculous to have a cortisone injection for a broken disc, it will reduce the strength of the connective tissue of the disc, thus greatly increase the risk of further injury to the disc, further it will reduce the inflammation and thus the pain response, iow you could put more pressure on the injured disc, thus risking further injury through this mechanism too. Reducing the inflammatory response also stops the repair process.
In this particular case, you wouldn't be able to find a better vector for causing maximum harm, cortisone inhibits also the immune response, so you take out the bodies natural defense against this fungus, and it is injected close to the spinal canal.
INCREDIBLE EVIL!

It's called desperation. People want relief from their pain. They NEED help for their pain !
And their ignorance due to the DISGUSTING establishment that has kept them enslaved to
the mentality that to get help/relief for their problem is to go to the fckn doctor and get a fckn drug/shot that is going
to magically take their problem and make it temporarily feel better all the while DAMAGING them !
And now THIS !!?? People better start waking up, if not then they will continue to VOLUNTARILY lead
themselves straight to the slaughter house of their own free will. I am so sick and so fed up with
all of this evil on top of evil, it's disgusting and degrading.
Rant off/ so sorry, but 13,000 people ?? How many people are this dumb to allow this to happen to them ? STOP TAKING DRUGS and SHOTS !! DUH !!!!!!!

Conditioning is a hard nut to crack, OHL. I have a close friend that suffers bad problems with his back, only recently is trying a chiropractor. About every 6 months or so he takes a cortisone shot for the pain (sciatic). He must take nearly 1000mg of ibuprofen daily (the pills are 750mg) and alternates into percocet when the pain is too much. I've tried advising changing physical patters (doesn't exercise) and moving towards a more natural diet (stop smoking etc) but to no avail.
When someone goes to doctor after doctor and hears the same words from all of them (pills, shots) the dogma becomes tautology.
I was just happy to hear his doctor isn't on on the CDC list above :/

I know of some peeps that were on the HARDCORE stuff for back pain. (Herniated discs, spurs, osteoarthritis,
stenosis, etc) If they were on opiates and can go al naturale then so can the cortisoners.
First comes just a little bit of education/knowledge (we're swimming in it) then comes WILLPOWER to just do it.
It takes a strong character to do this. We can't be weak. We must know that we can heal ourselves.
People do not know their own bodies.....they give reign of their body over to the establishment willingly and foolishly. Lining up daily...doctors office waiting rooms are full....and awaiting more and more....more lambs to the slaughter house...just sign your name at the front desk receptionist area.....we have our drugs and shots and scalpels waiting to heal you, er, I mean kill you.

People just need to get in their heads that the pain they are experiencing, is actually there to guide them to make better life choices... Suppressing it with chemistry is futile and harmful. Find out what is causing the pain, correct the problem, avoid doing what caused it. Stupid!

Yes ! Thank You ! Do we have to go around with it written on our foreheads ?? Carry signs around ?? Bumperstickers ?
I can't say it anymore than I already do. I just don't get it.
I had an M.D. (in person) rip me a new one the other day. He would hear NOTHING of what I had to say. NOTHING. LOL.
I told him he looks nice today (to stroke his PATHETIC EGO) just so he would STFU & I didn't have to hear him talkback anymore.
My brain was going to explode in my head.
