Colorado, Oregon and Washington.

Anybody wanna bet it won't pass in any of these states, even if everybody votes for it?

Think of how many prison guards, cops, prosecutors and other corrupt officials this will cause to lose their jobs. The prison industrial complex will collapse. TPTB will find a way to defeat measures like this everywhere, even if everybody votes for it.

Here's a little of the kinds of media interference we can expect:

It'll be a titanic legal battle between the states and the Federal government (which doesn't have the power to impose their will on the states).

Meanwhile, it is likely that after the 2012 election, more than 25% of the states will have legalized medical cannabis, which allows for personal cultivation, possession, and use.

... after one gets permission from the State, of course, and pays the applicable taxes and license fees.

Now I'm gonna take a non-State-sanctioned funky bong hit, and hope armed thugs employed by the State and paid via funds extorted and stolen from the productive members of society don't come and bust my door down to shoot me in the face.

Thank God America is free!

While I agree with the spirit of what you wrote, (I really do) I liken this to registering ones car. For many of us, it is quicker to just pay the $83 bucks a year to register our car than it is to constantly argue with cops (which costs time, at the very least) about why you have no plates on the automobile.

By the same token, in California, a cannabis recommendation costs $30-60 and is good for a year. The dispensaries provide a larger selection (30+ types at each dispensary, 500+ dispensaries) and lower prices than drug dealers used to. Further benefits are guaranteed purity, knowing your source, and not having to interface with a drug dealer. You're at a brick and mortar store instead.

Of course, this relatively low price is still artificially inflated. If it were completely legal, you could practically give away the middle quality stuff - only the high qualify stuff would really draw any sort of price.

Btw, have I told you I started making oils from cannabis? Cannabis extractions. Gave some to a lady with a tumor on her face - doc's told her that she no longer needed surgery and that her tumor was gone after 1 month of topical applications.

The States created the Federal Government. They need to man up and tell the Feds to go fuck themselves.

I think the States are waiting for the People to make them. As of right now, the Federal Government has 50+ "partners-in-crime".

I cant wait until the 'Legalize' PRIVATE PROPERTY. I mean, i do own my body don't I?

Then i can use Cannabis without fear of armed thugs knocking down my door.

Im so fucking sick of this whole Cannabis legalization SCAM. I dont even need to get to the 'Medical' argument because I OWN MY BODY and THIS IS AMERICA. The whole Medical argument is set up by the EUGENICIST that run the medical system. Make no mistake about it. These people are only making it worse by consenting that the Government even has the authority to regulate what you put into your body.

Cannabis IS NOT a drug!!!

BREAK YOUR CONDITIONING!!!

Exactly what people should worry about IMO. Get everyone convinced that the government should control it (for your safety of course) and then for how long will it be pure? It will be GMO pot before you know it.
