Not long ago, Gaillo was "banned" for a few days.

When he came back, I noticed that it says "administrator" by his avatar.

Previously, if memory serves, JohnQPublic was the only administrator here, and Gaillo and Madfranks were "moderators".

What prompted this change?

Gaillo's been admin for a long time now, that's nothing new. If I recall correctly it goes back to privileges he needed to help dogman start the GSUS library.

Hmm.

I suppose I could be mistaken, but I remember only the site owner being labeled an "administrator" under his username, with both you and Gaillo being labeled as "moderators".

He needed the ability to check into our private messages to see what was being said about him...?

He's administering two things, Jack and Shit, and Jack left town. :)

Lucky for me I have another site that would more than welcome my Cuban talk......the plan behind the plan, just in case that my last post would insult our new master at this site...........be ready and you won't be sorry.

When someone says "I don't mean to be intrusive, BUT"....what is he getting ready to do?

He has been administrator for a long time, and his title was "administrator".

For the record this took me about 90 seconds to find using the forum search function. And half that was spent petting my dog.

For those who have wondered, and I'm sure there are a few of you (I've received more than one PM asking):

My Avatar is of the Hindu God "Vishnu".

While it is true that I am not a Hindu (or, indeed, a believer in ANY religion I'm aware of), and I don't believe in supernatural beings, I did still choose it for a reason.

I'm pretty sure I changed to that Avatar right after I became an administrator.

Here's what Wikipedia says about Vishnu:

The part in BOLD is what I've attempted to be for and to this forum in my position as moderator and administrator.

If I've failed you, I can do but offer the most sincere of apologies, along with my word as a man of integrity that I will do better should providence choose to allow my continued participation in this community.

LOL.

I just had a question.

So the administrators are JohnQPublic and Gaillo.

The only "moderator" labeled as such is Madfranks.

I hadn't noticed that Gaillo had the "administrator" title before his return from his recent banishment, so I was wondering if this was a new change.

Thanks for that. I missed that thread.

I made no attempt to use the forum search function; in the past I have used it and it wasn't able to find results that search engines could, so I don't use it often.

No, and I don't play a Hindu God on TV either. However, I did stay at the Calcutta Holiday Inn last night...

Seriously, Calcutta is one of the most mindblowing cities of the world. I spoke to mother Teresa there in 1995. But the best experience I had there was in 1994, I think it was, after half starving around India for a couple of months, I went to one of their foremost luxury hotels, and had a dinner. Started with the best ice cold Gazpacho of my life, an absolutely beautiful vegetarian Lasagna, and an exceedingly rich chocolate mousse as desert with coffee, and I had a violin player playing classical music at my table for all the time I was there. All for about $5 including 20% tip. Following the dinner I had a running Rikshaw back to my hostel. The knowledge that people were starving around me didn't bother me one iota. Possibly it made the food taste even better. I guess I should be ashamed! But I am not!
