The train crews around here are always working on the tracks you can't miss them.
Wonder how the maintenance is in other ares?

I would go with maintenance... budget cuts and lower quality workers!

They better take very good care of those tracks......after TSHTF that will be the only way to transport food, at first the trucks will be safe, with some guards, but after a while then not even that.

That's what you get when more money is spent on TSA officers to keep the trains safe, then on mantainence of train and track safety.

take a complex system, add a dose of "Make do with Less", you are sure to get some un-planned "Entropy".
the April 20, 2010 BP Disaster (ongoing, for people who live near the Gulf) would be another example.
100 years from now, at the Universities that are left, scientists will be studying our current situation, the increasing technological complexity, combined with the widespread government & business criminality, iPad-mania (sounds like a Tampon), along with a collapsing economy, and think, "what a bunch of idiots".

They just tested the high speed rail in ill this week. 15 minutes of 111 mph. Dick Durbin and the Pat (I am a lackey) Quinn got a nice photo op.

I was under the impression the railroads were doing well. Their stocks have performed well over the last decade which is more than many industries can say.

That only leads me to believe someone is pumping then dumping the jewish lightning on them, or fixing them wrongly.
