I (http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=yoshitaka+amano&oe=utf-8&channel=suggest&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=VViHUNWKDeeIiwL5h4GQAg&biw=1643&bih=912&sei=V1iHUNraKKX4igLd9ICIDgI) have done it. I loved it.

I found the top of a 30 year old plant. The grower gave it to me. I asked permission from the plant to ingest it. I took it home and started preparing it.

I had a razor blade and began to despine it. As I made small divots under each spine, little bits of sap seeped onto my hands. By the time I was finished despining, sources of light had small fractal rainbows emanating from them. I had immense feels of positivity, belonging, wholeness. I spent the rest of the evening looking at my "art" folder on my computer. Everything was much more beautiful than it had ever been before.

In particular, the Art of Yoshitaka Amano blew my mind.

The following day, I drove two of my friends into the desert with our dog Storm. We ate the cactus that I had prepared. I started a fire and built a tent. We spent the evening looking at stars, the moon, and enjoying the desert.

Eating it was interesting. But that first emotional experience I had when the sap soaked into my hands during the despining.....was beyond words.

Thank you San Pedro for existing.

Great stuff if used with respect. Cactus is good for the spirit and battles addictions.

Virus Lab research shows that more than 80% of malware (viruses, trojans, worms, spyware) now spreads via the internet. We’ve got your back.

I got this when I opened the OP. not when I opened the op when I clicked on this thread, anybody else?

Avast says threat detected.

I removed the image from wallpapermay.com - thanks for the heads up. I was simply hotlinking.

I have been reading erowid.org for over 10 years. You can trust it.

They have a section (Experiences) where you can read a play by play journal from an individual who has ingested the substance you are curious about. It goes a long way towards explaining every particular substance.

I agree that erowid is a great resource (long-time user here too), and the play-by-play reports are fun to read (although I feel that I "get" the authors because I've generally experienced the type of drugs/states that they are trying to describe, and not based on their reports alone; basically the point that I am trying to get across here, is that one can read stories about the experiences of others, but the quintessential psychedelic experience, like any mystical experience, is ineffable, and English words are mere grasps at straws to make connections in readers' minds to things that do not necessarily exist in their minds until after they have had a similar experience themselves.

In short, reading about LSD or DMT and taking a few hits of LSD or a blast of DMT [or both] are quite different.)

I'd say that I could find a lot of people who would agree that sex is an experience worth having. Tripping is like that too, although there are no doubt fewer partakers.

It sounds almost like "cheating", but genuine mystical experiences can be had whilst on psychedelic drugs. I know this for a fact. Alan Watts once said, regarding psychedelics: "When you get the message, hang up the phone."
... but I still like to pick up the phone a couple times a year, just to say 'hello'. :)

Drugs will probably always be a part of my life. I haven't taken any in a few months however, not even alcohol. I guess tea is technically a drug - I drink tea.

I just signed up for a 10 day meditation retreat in 29 Palms California. It is provided free of charge - you are free to donate what you feel it is worth.

Drugs are just one thread in the tapestry of life

If it was my entire blanket, there would be a problem!

erowid is a great resource.

i used to work with a PC Board designer who, earlier in his life, had taken LSD every day for a year and a half.

he was one of the most clear minded & level headed people at the company.

he also refused to "go corporate", insisted on contracting.

I asked permission from the plant to ingest it

...and it said okay?

Where is Palani to instruct you?

Clearly you gave notice, and because of its silence, it gave consent ...

I got a feeling of positivity, of "affirmative". I didn't get a feeling of fear in response to my question. Obviously the reply was not verbal but I have learned to listen to the inner voices and intuitions inside of me.

This is pyschoactive plants 101. You don't approach the plant with the mentality that the plant owes you a certain experience. The approach should be one of respect, the plant is a gateway to thousands of different experiences. If you respect it, you might be shown a better time. If a person fails to respect the plant, they may have a more negative experience.

It's part of the ritual of preparing plant based drugs.

it shows how finely tuned the human brain is.

i was out on a long walk once, doing about 12 miles. bought a cookie at some store with lots of tie-dies, it wasn't a pot cookie, it was a chocolate chip cookie with some pot seeds in it.

i swear to God, i could feel i micro-buzz from it. and that is dilute - 0.1 micrograms in 5 or 6 liters of blood, by the time it's digested.

Anyone read any of Carlos Castaneda's books? Back in my days of tripping, his works were almost required reading, starting with "The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge."
