Either way the term "enlightenment" is an eastern mysticism term which turned into the "new age" and it relates to being in tune with Lucifer.
Illuminati = enlightened ones

Jesus Christ was an "enlightened one" if anyone was. Just like his Father who ordered: "Let there be light!" (and to Him, it was good!)
John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Where else would "enlightenment" come but from the East? Is that not where the Sun rises every morning?
I wonder where Yeshua was during those 18 years that are missing from the Bible...

StreetOfGold shows that he is confused: giving the word "enlightened" an extremely negative connotation because some at the top have twisted its meaning and corrupted Latin is kinda sad. At this pace, even Light itself will eventually appear as a threat...
trying to imagine how shiny could "streets of gold" possibly be... :) okay lets not derail this thread.

Somehow churning along on Ted Turner's comments that the U.N. should replace the U.S. as the enlightened suiciders of the world seems counter productive.

"I think it's good, because it's so clear we're programmed, and were born, to love and help each other, not kill and destroy each other. That's an aberration, that's left over from hundreds of years ago. It's time for us to start acting enlightened."
It seems like he's saying that it's good troops are killing themselves because it shows that what they are doing is unnatural and inherently wrong. In other words, it's better than them being cold killing machines with zero empathy and enjoying what they do. Seems like a reasonable comment to me.

Well I guess something that "good" bears repeating over, and over, now and again, thru the ages?
The enlightened thing to say would be.
"They don't belong there."
But he can't, because it would ruin his act.
The Hegelian dialectic
The system embodied within Hegel's philosophy of history is essentially that of a dialectical progression. To give a brief outline, this model begins with an existing element, or thesis, with contradictions inherent to its structure. These contradictions unwittingly create the thesis' direct opposite, or antithesis, bringing about a period of conflict between the two. The new element, or synthesis, that emerges from this conflict then discovers its own internal contradictions, and starts the process anew. The reason the Hegelian dialectic is termed "progressive" is because each new thesis represents an advance over the previous thesis, continually until an endpoint (or final goal) is reached. To specifically apply this model Hegel's view of world history, it represents the manner in which the Spirit develops gradually into its purest form, ultimately recognizing its own essential freedom. To Hegel, "world history is thus the unfolding of Spirit in time, as nature is the unfolding of the Idea in space." The dialectical process thus virtually defines the meaning of history for Hegel.

That's how I read it too. I'm sure he'd like to reword it a bit if he could, but his meaning is clear enough, that the "mission" they're doing is so... what, inhuman? unnatural? maybe demonic? Esp given that many enlisted must know either overtly or suppressed, on what a grand scale they've been lied to... at least in 2001 and perhaps today, the average Afghan goat herder they were attacking didn't even know about 9/11. The enlisted are ordered/encouraged to do a lot of sick shit to complete innocents, women/children, and they have to live with themselves. (btw Turner seemed to just be ref'ing warfare in general, not all the additional factors re this war I lumped in ^)
I'd have to dig up a link but I've heard in the past, some sick percentage of the enlisted are given SSRI antidepressants and other psychotropics, and we know how those are associated with suicides & mass killings.
So between the pure evil they've been tasked by the satanists with perpetrating, and the cocktail of psychotropics many are on/off/adjusting-to etc, it just overwhelms them and their will to live.
There are worse fates than death; they could get their dicks blown off by a landmine! (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/21/beyond-the-battlefield-afghanistan-genital-injuries_n_1335356.html) :o
here's the story this stems from,

As far as the current system goes as compared to the feudal system (not that either has been enlightened so much as the current is uber-royalian dedicated ), a wrong turn was made somewhere, as the poor volunteer sots have zero incentive.
Turner wouldn't change a word if given the chance to.

Its ok, he has issued an apology.....He was 'misunderstood'. LOL To bad he will have to back in time and 'apologize' for his Eugenicist comments he has made over the past decades....
http://www.prisonplanet.com/ted-turner-apologizes-for-saying-its-good-u-s-soldiers-are-committing-suicide.html
During my recent interview on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight, I inadvertently used the word “good” when asked for my thoughts on the increasing rate of suicide among U.S. military soldiers in the Middle East. It was certainly not my intent to imply that suicide is “good.” Rather, I was implying that it is good that the public is more aware of these tragedies and is more averse to war and war-related fatalities.
My message has always been one of peace, I believe that we’re born programmed to love and help each other, not to kill or hurt each other. I strongly support our U.S. troops and would never intentionally say anything to harm the brave men and women serving our country. I deeply apologize for any misunderstanding caused by this comment.
Although Turner himself has five children and owns thousands of acres of land, in 2010 he told Canada’s Globe and Mail (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/ted-turner-urges-global-one-child-policy-to-save-planet/article1825977/) that world leaders should “institute a global one-child policy to save the Earth’s environment.”
Turner has also repeatedly called for the planet’s population to be reduced so drastically that the only way it could be achievable would be through a massive global genocide.
“A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal,” Turner stated in 1996.
Turner has since moderated his fervor for population reduction, earlier this year expressing his desire (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMgamzziQMM&feature=em-uploademail) to see only 5 billion people wiped off the face of the earth.
These were the subjects up for discussion when Turner met in secret with the likes of George Soros, Bill Gates and David Rockefeller at a 2009 private gathering of billionaires in Manhattan (http://abcnews.go.com/Business/story?id=7628545&page=1), a confab focused around how the elite could use their wealth to “slow the growth of the world’s population.”
