Missed me?..........went to the VA today and they took 50CC of black blood from my right knee..........OUCHHHHH boy oh boy did that hurt................... Hey Dr., you there? what is going on? they keep asking me if I hit my legg agaisnt something but I haven't.

I was the only one waiting in the emergency clinis so that they took care right away of my problem........there was one Dr and five nurses and another guy, I don't know what his job was........they even gave me a pair of cruches.

And, the dollar store was full of old folks buying food....add yours trully as one of them :)

You have a hemarthrosis and possibly a synovitis. You should stay off the knee and keep it elevated above the heart as much as possible. 1000 mg Vit. C q6h and a non-aspirin antiinflammatory like Tylenol (does not inhibit platelet clotting) should help. The doc should have run a PT/PTT & CBC blood tests and possibly liver function studies. A bleeding time (better yest PFA-100 test) might be recommended. A spontaneous joint bleed can be a harbinger of a blood clotting disorder.

38 days ago he took out 25 cc from the right side of the knee but there was nothing on the left side........this time he took 25 cc from the left and 25 cc from the right...he did tag the tubes to send them for a blood test.......now the ortho Dr is supposed to call me to make another appointment.................hey Dr? that knee replacement? is it any good and will I be able jog a little bit like I (was) doing now? will I limp? what's the deal on that?......

Hey Ponce, waste a bit of your resources and buy some real good nutritious food, will ya? I thought you already have about 8 years of food stored. What's the point of that if you don't survive your health issues. Is it only your knee that gets swollen, or is the rest of the leg also swollen, your feet warm/cold? Do you bruise easily in general?

Well, I think you should have at least a cursory workup to rule out a blood clotting disorder. An internist can do this. An orthopod is geared to surgery, not medicine. Bilateral hemarthrosis is not the presentation of degenerative joint disease [DJD]. And DJD is the main indication for knee replacement. You may not need your knees replaced. An MRI of the knees can determine this. But knee replacement has been perfected and the results are outstanding - you would be able to walk like a young Cuban lady's man again. In any event, at your age the main concerns would be a low platelet count from "tired marrow" or occult liver disease. The tests for these are simple and inexpensive.

I eat good and for the pain in my knee all is normal........ remember that my right leg has had a lot of trauma, lucky to walk at all, it has been broken six times, the legg is 1/2 shorter than the left one and the same for the food....all toes but for the big one are broken and frozen and one time the drilled a hole right thrue my legg to put me in tractions for two months.

Here but for the grace of the Force here go I.........just took two pain pills and on the hone with Agnut.

Thanks Dr and Franks...........just got up, once again........took two pain pill which I usually don't take.....I am not into drugs, pain or not.................once again they chew my ass out for not taking BP pills but I keep reading that in some cases they do nothing, and you know how "special" I am hahahahahaha.
