Last week, I heard an odd prop drone and ran outside. It was a Beechcraft Starship! I think there are only around ten flying, with the other ten hanging around for parts.

...granted, CF-18's are not unusual looking, but in almost 4 years living where i am, this is the first one i've seen fly right over the house, and not very far off the deck, either!

It's not supersonic. It appears to be a high lift and/or a short takeoff cargo aircraft. Big engines, thin fuselage, extra lift and fuel tankage makes me think a handy bird for a first stage for an orbital launcher or ASAT launcher. I like the canard on the front for low speed control. Interesting bird.

Yeah, the Beechcraft Starship has a very unique sound. I've seen only one fly overhead about 5 miles from the airport.
