I got this portable, table top reverse osmosis system. I've been using it a few weeks now and so far I'm extremely happy with it. If I have any issues in the future I'll let you know. I have tested it though.

I did a ppm (Parts Per Million) test with my TDS meter (http://www.amazon.com/HM-Digital-TDS-EZ-Auto-off-Function/dp/B002C0A7ZY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1351571931&sr=8-2&keywords=tds+ez+meter). I'm giving average estimates since the ppm in my water changes from time to time. Here are my results:

Tap Water....................................... ≈ 400 ppm
Berkey Light w/ PF2 (Fluoride) filters..... ≈ 380 ppm
Reverse Osmosis................................. ≈ 20 ppm

NOTE: I still don't have a fluoride tester YET, but I will try to get around to doing that eventually.

Reverse Osmosis is the clear winner. Compared to the tap and Berkey Light water it tastes like NOTHING. It's a noticeable difference for sure. The only downsides are that you require water pressure for it to work. Also it wastes a lot of water to get clean water. It forces the bad water through the filters, and spits out the good clean water, and REALLY bad water that's just concentrated bad water. You pretty much water to discard that water anyways. The bad water outflow had almost 1.5x more ppm than the tap water did. You will have more waste much more water to get clean water. Gravity fed systems don't have these problems at all.

You can set it up for your garden hose or (for a little more $$$) get a sink attachment. I'll definitely keep the Berkey Light as a BACKUP incase the water stops flowing from my tap, but I think as a primary system people should have reverse osmosis now. It's MUCH cheaper than a gravity filter, and easier to use! I'm actually using my old Berkey Light as a water reservoir to store my reverse osmosis water as sort of a sick joke I guess (it's BPA-free.)

I hope this information helps some of you.
