I hope so. If you're reading this beef, enjoy a little time free from GSUS, but feel free to come back any time, you are welcome here, and as TT used to say, "you are among friends".

I feel really bad about this. I think I upset him.

I've learned a lot from Beefsteak. He's personally helped me with his extensive knowledge on gold prospecting. He was a huge asset to this forum. A true man of honor.

I will miss beefsteak.

I think what upset him was madfranks overturning one of Gaillo's decisions. He seemed to think that was some massive harbinger of doom for GSUS. I hope he's wrong, but if he's not, he got out before the rush. :)

About 90% of the useful gold and silver posts are now gone. We might as well find a new name for the forum.

?? They are not 'gone'; just nearly impossible to find/search for...

ETA: or did you mean the people who post??

so why is that a member, who is an invitee, can have all their posts deleted. Didn't we do this topic before? so we just lose all the Fukishima stuff? Plus everything else useful posted by beefsteak?

I stand corrected. It had been my understanding that when an account was deleted, all the posts were as well.

Oh come on. When did great posters turn into pussies. Are people drinking a little too much these days?

I'd like to know WHY he made that decision?

beef steak gave me permission to publicize his exit as I see fit, so rather than summarizing the main points, I will post some selective quotes from his request:

"...I am a man of principle, and will no longer remain in the GS-US conversation. I survived GIM multiple years, came here and have mostly enjoyed myself.

I no longer fit in the mixture of foul language, disloyalty, jew bashing, troll coddling remnants of this forum. I'll miss the occassional truffles found by this blind hog, but GS-US has been weighed in the balances and found wanting..."

"...Again, I've "slept on it" and I KNOW THAT I KNOW THAT I KNOW that I want my account deletion to be effective immediately and permanently..."

I hope I balanced respecting his privacy and informing the rest of you why he left. Again, it is unfortunate, and beefsteak is always welcome back.

Merely an observation by someone viewing from the outside - anyone who gets overwrought by some inconsequential superfluous drama on a discussion forum is going to have a difficult time coping during the transition to the new paradigm - JMO.

hes getting old, people often get bitter and twisted when they age............the thing is the emotional content must not overcome the information and logic.

Its happened to me ,the emotion (hi magnes) can overcome a person at times but by being detached and respecting information for what it is we always get thru this.

I was going to delete all the bad stuff in my life and past but my processor broke down...hahahahah

if you cant laugh you may as well give up

once i belonged to a book reading group that read history books.

since it was in Sonoma County, it read books from "progressive" authors. e.g. Howard Zinn.

one of the people in the group had PTSD, and got very upset when the history dialogue turned to mass murder.

of course, it is very hard to talk about history without talking about mass murder. so the group began avoiding that subject.

and, it is very hard to talk about world affairs, past & present, without talking about Jewish people - who are often the quarterbacks behind the mass murder (well, often, they're the entire offensive team.)

what i just said - is that Jew-bashing ? i would say it's telling the truth.

as far as the other stuff Beefsteak talked about - bans, infighting, forum admin - i avoid most of those threads.

we had an Epic thread going about Fukushima. one of THE best ongoing accounts on Earth, 300+ pages long (of course, with the new forum software, the pages are shorters.)

anyway, Beefsteak posted a lot in that thread. so what happens now ? i will go look.

OH GOOD ! his posts are still there, he is listed as a guest.

We do offer a cooling off preiod, and he had contacted one of teh other administrators. I interpreted the statement as saying, 'yes, I have thought about it, and I want my account deleted'. So I respected that, and deleted the account.

I have this one relative, well no about 2 or 3 of them actually, one is just worse,
and when they're all here they get to talkin.
WHEW ! F BOMBS a flying and LOUD, too !!
( Think of a room full of General of D's )

I say, guys, guys, watch your mouth Pleeeeeze, we gotz youngins here and sensitive ears here, ya know !
Oh they laugh and carry on more. It's JUST their nature now. That's how they talk.
Oh I just let them talk ! Makes you TOUGHER !
My little one runs around and I swear to God, this is what she says ----
I am not making this up !!
She says, Momma, I gotta go pray for these people !! Man do they need a blessing !!!

LOL. I don't where she comes up with this schtuff ?

(point? If a child can ignore the chaos and insanity that can surround them at times & pray , we can learn from them )

ETA: and another elderly relative in the midst starts yelling "serenity now, serenity now" she heard from some teevee show.
Like that's gonna help ! I'm surrounded & drowning in crazy, so coming here is just an extension of my crazy life !
If you don't laugh, you WILL cry !

It was honest. He spoke his mind. He wasn't cracking jokes.

What I find interesting, is how a poster on this forum....could be here since day 1. Day 1, over 2 years, and be disrespected and cast aside so easily. Very telling, indeed.
