I submit it's the Ruger 10/22 Takedown, with one of these AGP folding stocks on it -

Also some Ruger BX-25 hi-cap mags and an Aimpoint T-1.

I've spoken with a few people that own that model. About half have said they've had trouble getting zero without tweaking after breakdown. I'd like to see that issue eliminated. Of course it could be user error.
Edit: I would include a 22 pistol to compliment this setup as well.

I just bought a 10/22 takedown a few days ago. I'm going through the waiting period now. I haven't heard of this issue, but will report it to the forum if I do.

I picked up a 10/22 takedown today. Well, filled out the paperwork. Besides a sling and trigger work, I think I'm going with this rear sight with the matching front in black.

A glock 22 and an SKS wherever you go and your odds of getting there go up..with the right determination..

Yeah, I was gonna say, I always imagined my "get back home" gun would be a handgun, rather than a rifle. My Glock 17 is the best I have for a get back home gun.

I agree and it is what I carry for that role as well.
I'd think you would want to pack as lightly as you could to "bug home".
I don't see the 10/22 TD as out of the question - but I guess if you had to feed yourself on the way home, it would be handy.
@ MR:
What criteria are you looking at here?
I see it as somewhat inconspicuous, compact, a food getter and last resort self defense ( or a deterrant at least )
but I can do all that w/ a G17
what were ya goin' for here?

Stealth in the personal protection mode - the report of a .22 cannot be heard as far away. A .22 rifle gets you a little more range edge than a .22 pistol with respect to sighting/accuracy.

Great minds think alike, i hadn't read this until today and I have the TD rifle with backpack and bought a 22/45 Lite as a complimentary pistol.

I live in California, so carrying is not an option.
However, were it an option, I would have a Glock in my backpack and it would go on my hip when SHTF.

I ordered one of these this afternoon. If this doesn't get me home, along with my XD 9, well... It's a Browning BLR lever action takedown, in .308

I've never heard of a lever action takedown, anything. I would like one in 30-30.
Here's a pic of my guide gun, I got some leather on her the other day...The bullets fit perfect in that leather butt cuff, couldn't be happier.

30-30 is about the only round it isn't chambered in.

After shooting Brewtech's .308, I had to have one.

I dunno guys, If its bad enough I NEED to carry a rifle to GET HOME, Im carrying something with a little more punch. The .22 is a GREAT survival rifle and absolutely has its uses, but it would NOT be my MAIN get home gun, by any stretch or means. Shooting people is serious business, if they must be shot its because they must be stopped. If they must be stopped, they must be stopped right f**** now.

Nothing like a good lever rifle. For a get-home bag I would have a handgun, though. When things go South I want to be shooting my weapon, not assembling it.

I loved shooting Brew's 308. I hear ya there.
Man, I think I need to get one of these. I was thinking of my next purchase, a marlin 336 in 30-30. I just love the action on these lever guns. The action on the guide gun is amazing, but the round really isn't that practical. You can't shoot it more than a dozen times before your shoulder starts hurting. It's like tossing a brick at your target.
Keep us posted on how you like this gun. A takedown lever in 308, wow, sounds very cool.

Got that too in the get-home bag. A Springfield XD9 with eight mags.
