I love F1 and make it known, but this is the pinnacle of motorsport.

I agree. They're going so fast that they don't have time to react to the environment. They literally have to have the course memorized in order to survive it.

Got to hand it to some of the fans as well. Only a few feet between them and the bikes going close to 200 mph

That is insane shit! The guys doing it must miss some self preservation neural circuits, some of those wobbles the cycles get after jumps, could very easily go out of hand, and you get thrown off the bike in 150 mph or so. Crazy!

That is incredible! The slow-mo of those little jumps where the bike lands and wobbles made me shudder! At 170+ mph it is a miracle they land the bikes! I agree with you LS, that is the very definition of balls!

Do those bikes come with trainning wheels?........I want one.

The biggest one that I have ever had was the Kawasaky 500........only lasted one week with it.

Honda Rebel ( is a classic now) three weeks.

Honda175 two months.

Honda Elite scooter motor bike two months.

Right legg four time, left shoulder twice, right foot twice, three ribs and I forgot what else.......oh yeah, my head, the Dr told me that it saved my life, he peeled in four like a grapefruit.

This is a phenomenal documentary about the TT. I get goosebumps every time I watch it. The film has parts in it that will bring you to tears.

Here is an amateur video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4NdcMELso8&feature=fvwrel

I remember watching a TT a few years ago and they interviewed Jenny Tinmouth who straight up said one of the main reasons girls can't compete is because they have to much self preservation in them, that the guys just put that out of their heads. And that is what I like about it honestly, these guys make one mistake and it could cost them their life, in MotoGP if you go down unless someone runs you over you will most likely just slide off the track into some gravel, it's dangerous but nothing like the TT. So the pressure is intense and these guys perform, the top riders in the top class average 130mph and there are some hairpins and slow sections. Without the danger I don't think you can have true motorsport. What I mean is if in an F1 car you know that there is no way you will die or be injured you will be brazen in your racing, but if you think that your overtake may work, or it may cost you your life, you will think twice about doing it and assess how badly you want to win. I watch a lot of motor racing but the TT is just in another dimension.

I love the TT. We've been lucky enough to get good coverage down this way for the last couple years. Initially it was on odd/late hours but now it's very popular and mainstream. Coverage is better and longer. The riders are still as tough as they always were. The slo mo footage is amazing. To see the tyre flex and the compression in the suspension and the wobbles are incredible.

Some good results this year. I don't know many names but recognize a fair few faces now. There's the guy with the lamb chops. He's had some good runs. I think one year he cleaned up just about everything except top class. I think this year he finally got there and has won of everything in the trophy cabinet now. I can't understand a word he says but he's earnest.

That was him. The one I was talking about, Guy Martin. Not much left of that bike. And the other accident, that guy was very lucky to flip up over that stone wall that he was heading towards.
