I had it on guarantee that the sunspot activity would be excellent for my DNA progression.
Beefsteak is missed, yes. I sincerely hope that I am one of the truffle finders he mentioned, although I haven't really been doing my part to survey the metals market to be honest.
I had to look up the phrase:
spit the dummy. A dummy is what some Americans call a pacifier, and when a baby spits the dummy it just can't be pacified. To spit the dummy is to baulk at, get angry about, or simply, obstinately refuse to do, something.

I've heard the expression "spit the bit", which seems to refer to getting frustrated and giving up.

expected that to be the case ,spitting the dummy is an Australian expression but sums it up
every person in OZ knows what this means.......person gets pissed off and blows up and when its termed spitting the dummy it implies caddishness ,no matter how old a person is.

I think a dummy spit is more akin to chucking a tanty (tantrum). I don't know that beef spat it so much. He just got a bit cheesed off. He'd had a gut full. At the end of his tether. He couldn't hack it any longer. He was fed up to the back teeth.
