Basically there's a call around the Internets to go and buy ammo in any quantities today to support gun rights and all that good hunk-dory stuff.

What sparked it:

So consider going out an buying a large box of ammo. With cash, of course.

Interesting. It's about time Ammo got it's own special day where we can give thanks for all this things that ammo has done for us this last year?
So.......National Ammo day, I go kablamo, when I gots me some ammo.

But seriously it's Guy Fawkes day so why the hell not?

Remember remember the 5th of November. Gunpowder Treason and Plot.

I will gladly do my part to celebrate National Buy Ammunition Day . . . if anyone knows where there's free shipping, let me know!

The shipping just kills me.

I've been buying from Natchez for a while. No free shipping, but the good sale prices on ammo make up for it.

Haven't said anything in a long time. In Vancouver Canada you can purchase 10 Russian sks' for 1650 Can. You can get a Russian made SKS and 1440 rounds of ammo for 500 Canadian right as of today..the ammo gets more expensive the father north you go. I (having got my restricted license) a two day easy course. In Canada I can walk into my gunstore and walk out half an hour later with a pistol. Done it twice in the last 2 years..don't believe the hype about it being hard to get a weapon on Canuckistan..if you have the easy and cheap to attain licenses. Check out Lever Arms, Vancouver, Canada..Peace..

I scored an amazing deal on 45-70 gov't, Hornady. $27 a box. In the past I've paid as much as $42 a box for this stuff. I also picked up 1000 rounds of 22 lr, some shotgun rounds, and 38 special. I bought more ammo today than I ever have before.

Hollow Point

Full Metal Jacket

Soft Point

For just plinking I'd just go with the cheaper option. Just a note, I personally shoot steel cased russian ammo but I know some guns have issues with it, IIRC because it is stiffer than brass and can damage some parts of your gun (hopefully heimdahl can add to that) Also the powder is super dirty for some reason, FWIW.

they're all different configurations of bullets.....HP has a hollow cavity in the bullet tip (sorta self-explanatory) FMJ/FMC has a complete metal "jacket" surrounding the bullet SP typically has a small exposed portion of the bullet tip that allows "controlled expansion" of the bullet

Now....if you want "Complete Penetration" on Hard targets; then I'd recommend these....;D
