Not sure if this is a prep post or a equip review post.

Seen these meals in many of the local fishing and camping stores and figured I would try one out and see what it was like. They run for just under $10 for some single serve meals up to $14-$15 for other single serve meals depending on variety. You can also get 2 serve meals which run about $5 extra over the single serve.
They have a decent variety of meals. The one I grabbed for a test was a Beef and Pasta hot pot. It was $9 something and weighed in at about 90grams. It packs very thin as well.
Long shelf life. The one I bought was May 2015.
To prepare you add 250ml (1 cup) of boiling water to the pack. Reseal and wait 10 minutes. To do it right you need to stir the contents before adding water to make sure all the settled ingredients get mixed up. You need to stir the meal after you add the water for the same reason. I didn't and found the sauce was gluggy.
The pack is made for resealing and also can be torn down to use as a bowl.
While the beef was more an extruded product I think the chicken meals are more likely to contain real chicken pieces. The food was surprisingly good. I didn't expect anything very palatable and I was pleasantly surprised. It was very tasty. You could easily manage on these meals.
If you see them and they are cheap, don't hesitate to grab some.
This guy does a demo on YT. His reaction is pretty much the same as mine.
