A New Kind of Freedom

Karl Marx was asked once how he could justify advocating a political system of slavery for the individual, which is what socialism is. He replied that socialism is not slavery; it is a "new kind of freedom." As all perceptive students of history know, the intellectuals of Europe bought into such Alice in Wonderland sophistry and plunged into the twentieth century nightmare of collectivist tyranny. But unfortunately, so did American intellectuals about 30 years later when the Progressives of Woodrow Wilson's era established the Creature from Jekyll Island to usher in centralized government banking and the progressive income tax to "spread the wealth around."

Socialism is not really so bad, reasoned the American intellectual community. If we think about it, it actually is a "new kind of freedom." We just have to do what the Red Queen and the Mad Hatter advocated. We have to change the meaning of the words that define the fundamental values of our lives. After all, there is no objective reality; words can mean whatever we want them to mean. All we have to do is teach Marx's new definition of freedom to the young at an early enough age that when they grow into adulthood they will not think of a government-dominated society as slavery at all. It will be a "new kind of freedom" to them.

Americans never bought into Lenin's violent revolutionary socialism but they did buy into the Fabians' democratic evolutionary socialism. Fabian ideas in Britain were readily picked up by the American progressives and liberals of the twentieth century. This redefinition of values has been consuming us now for 100 years ever since the Creature from Jekyll Island and the tax revenuers took over Washington. The progressives and liberals have even redefined their redefinitions. Fascism, being basically the same as socialism, is now acceptable in the mix.

What is horrifying is that Barack Obama's election victory is tied directly to this corruption of values. We have now elected, for a second time, a man who was raised by communists in Hawaii. Obama's mind was forged from the likes of Frank Marshall Davis, a powerful and radical communist apparatchik of the fifties, sixties, and seventies. Davis was Obama's constant companion from the age of 9 to 18 before he went off to Occidental College in Los Angeles. His worldview is thus the Marxian sophistry that socialism is a "new kind of freedom." In the mind of Obama, individuals like Hank Rearden and Dagny Taggart are not entrepreneurial benefactors to their fellow man; they are evil rich people who exploit their fellow man. These evil rich need to be leveled down. And the way to do it is insidiously, governmentally, with ever-expanding redistribution of wealth programs and ever-expanding monetary inflation.

One of Ayn Rand's powerful insights in Atlas Shrugged is that dictatorships take over because the people actually approve of them. She called it the "sanction of the victim." This attitude now permeates the American electorate. Nietzsche's "slave mentalities" dominate the throngs of voters who determine what our government is to do. The great majority of Americans are demonstrating that they actually want to be enslaved.

Rand also made the following observation: When asked once why she voted Republican if she thought both parties had sold out to collectivism, she replied that both parties are headed toward the abyss, but Democrats wish to charge toward it and Republicans wish to creep toward it. She, no doubt, felt that we have more time to educate the people as to what is happening with Republicans in power.

Well, America just ran out of time this past election night. A majority of American voters indicated that they believe government owes them a living along with health care, security and self-esteem. They indicated that they are very comfortable with the Fabian march into socialist-fascism that has been taking place ever since the Creature was instituted in 1913. They indicated that they believe rich people don't earn their wealth; they steal it from the kindly masses by siphoning off the surplus productivity of their labor and reducing them to grinding poverty. (This is the fallacious "labor theory of value" that Marx perpetuated.)

Unfortunately, this fallacious reasoning is why so many Americans have become so slothful and are choosing to vote for a living rather than work for a living. It is the reason why so many productive men and women in America are poisoned with guilt and now tolerate the egregious, confiscatory taxes that are destroying the dynamism of our economy and the sanity of our lives. Justice and prosperity cannot be built by catering to slothful masses with theoretical fallacies.

The slothful masses now control America through an Orwellian czar in Washington whose mentor was a rabid communist apparatchik in the 1970s and whose close advisors (Bill Ayres, Jeremiah Wright, Valerie Jarrett, etc.) have always been radical leftist haters of America. This Orwellian czar is now a lame duck President and doesn't have to run again. All that blocks him from ravaging our rights and freedoms is a supine Senate and a timid array of House Republicans. Will these political sycophants be able to stand up to him and the new hordes of entitlement seekers that bolster him with their eager votes? Not likely. Congress will, instead, begin to reach out to the new entitlement seekers along with the pressing hordes of illegals and their comrades waiting in the wings for entrance to America.

Jean Raspail's Camp of the Saints looms over the horizon. Congressional sycophants will begin to emulate Fox News analyst, Kirsten Powers, who gleefully reported on election night, "We are now a brown nation." They will begin to reevaluate their position on the illegals. They will reason that another 15 million illiterate anti-Americans amidst us is no problem. To paraphrase Nixon, "We're all Multiculturalists now."

Thus, Obama will push full-blown for amnesty for the illegals and Marx's redefinition of slavery into a "new kind of freedom." We will charge toward the abyss at a speed never before employed. Obama and the Creature will gobble up the last of our freedoms. America will become a giant replica of Greece.

For 60th Year, Germany Honors Duty to Pay Holocaust Victims

BERLIN — In a week when demonstrators from Greece to Spain drew parallels between Chancellor Angela Merkel’s drive for austerity and the brutality of the Nazis, a symbolic act recognizing the commitment that a postwar, peaceful Germany has made to many of those who survived Hitler’s atrocities largely went unnoticed.

On Thursday in Berlin, the annual conference to revise the qualifications for reparations for Holocaust victims was held.


Germany’s postwar reparations program has become such a matter of fact that many Germans are not even aware that their country, after paying $89 billion in compensation mostly to Jewish victims of Nazi crimes over six decades, still meets regularly to revise and expand the guidelines for qualification. The aim is to reach as many of the tens of thousands of elderly survivors who have never received any form of support.

In prominent places among the government buildings in the heart of a reunified Berlin, Germans have placed new memorials honoring the Jewish, gay, and Sinti and Roma victims. But the reparations program, which was created when Konrad Adenauer, the first chancellor of West Germany, and Israel signed the Luxembourg Agreement in 1952, receives far less attention.

By starting the program, West Germany, for the first time, assumed responsibility for compensating Jewish victims of Nazi crimes. Stuart E. Eizenstat, a special negotiator for the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, praised it as historically unique at a gathering here last week for its 60th anniversary.

“Here we started 60 years ago, when the German government was on its knees economically, and yet you made this commitment,” Mr. Eizenstat said Thursday at the event. “And here we are 60 years later at a time when you are bearing the burdens of Europe and a generation never even born during the war continues to fulfill its obligation.”

Over the years, the agreement has been amended and adapted to reflect the geopolitical changes in Europe, after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of Communist rule across Eastern Europe, and the changing needs of aging Holocaust survivors.

Last year, for survivors of ghettos, the amount of time spent there to qualify for compensation was reduced to 12 months from 18 months. As of Nov. 1, the program was opened to survivors living in countries previously under Soviet influence, making an estimated 80,000 more people eligible for one-time payments of $3,250. Starting next year, eligibility will extend to anyone who can prove that they hid from the Nazis for at least six months.

The negotiations between officials of the German Finance Ministry and representatives of the claims conference have also evolved over the decades. Though stiff silence dominated at the signing of the initial agreement, negotiators now view the other side as partners with a common goal of trying to reach as many survivors as they can, while they still can.

Roman Kent, 83, a survivor of Auschwitz and the ghetto in Lodz, Poland, said he had been involved in the talks for so long that he no longer remembered when he started. Having built a new life and a successful business in the United States, where he immigrated in 1946, Mr. Kent initially had no desire to become involved in the compensation discussions or to travel to Germany.

“When I went the first time, I felt extremely uncomfortable to be there,” he said of his initial round of negotiations.

At one point during that first discussion, Mr. Kent said, he made clear to the Germans across the table how difficult, how emotional, the process was for him.

On Thursday, Mr. Kent opened his speech with a quotation from a German poet, Heinrich Heine, who converted to Christianity from Judaism. Mr. Kent drew a parallel, reflecting how the process of working with the former enemy toward a common goal has altered his perception.

“We survivors and the Germans of today are together united,” Mr. Kent said. “Both of us do not want our past to be our children’s future.”

Not that the process is always smooth. Although the compensation has been supported through the years by German governments on both sides of the political spectrum, they must negotiate within the constraints of a federal budget. An investigation begun in 2010 found that employees of the claims conference had been involved in a scheme to use fake identification to defraud the fund of more than $42 million, only part of which has been paid back.

Julius Berman, the chairman of the claims conference, said that despite everything that has been accomplished, there remain as many as 50,000 victims who have never received compensation in any form. Mr. Berman also points to thousands of people scarred by the trauma of losing their parents, and their childhood, to the Nazis as a group still deserving recognition.

“It has never been about the money,” Mr. Berman said of the compensation program. “It was always about recognition.”

Asked whether, given the millions of dollars that Germany is now pledging to help weaker economies in the euro zone, there were thoughts that 60 years of payments to survivors was enough, Werner Gatzer, who leads the negotiations for the Germans, shook his head.

“We will have done enough when no more survivors remain,” Mr. Gatzer said. “As long as they live, we will uphold our responsibility.”

You seem to forget about Hitler youth, who were instructed to inform on their parents. Those concentration camps were for anyone who didn't tow the line, Fascism's line. How did they get those big turn outs for their public events? If you didn't show up you could be sent to the camps.

Obama was influenced by Martin Luther King, Hitler by Martin Luther.

Both Obama and Hitler came to power during the recession-depression; Obama in 2009, Hitler in 1933.

Both are personality cult leaders, portrayed as saviors of political and economical depression; Obama as an American savior, Hitler as German. A cult of personality arises when a country’s leader uses mass media to create an idealized and heroic public image, often through unquestioning flattery and praise.

Both are/were very gifted orators, having ability to attract great interest in their speeches. Both have/had hand gestures when giving a speech.

Both leaders had initiated health reforms, environmentalism and animal protection rights, among others.

I was born in one country, raised in another. My father was born in another country.


I was not his only child.


He fathered several children with numerous women.


I became very close to my mother, as my father showed no interest in me.


My mother died at an early age from cancer.


Although my father deserted me and my mother raised me, I later wrote a book idolizing my father not my mother.


Later in life, questions arose over my real name.


My birth records were sketchy.


No one was able to produce a legitimate, reliable birth certificate.


I grew up practicing one faith but converted to Christianity, as it was widely accepted in my new country, but I practiced non-traditional beliefs and didn't follow Christianity, except in the public eye under scrutiny.


I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult, disguising myself as someone who really cared about them.


That was before I decided it was time to get serious about my life and embarked on a new career.


I wrote a book about my struggles growing up.


It was clear to those who read my memoirs, that I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned me as a child.


I became active in local politics in my 30's then, with help behind the scenes, I literally burst onto the scene as a candidate for national office in my 40's.


They said I had a golden tongue and could talk anyone into anything.


I had a virtually non-existent resume, little work history, and no experience in leading a single organization.


Yet I was a powerful speaker and citizens were drawn to me, as though I were a magnet and they were small roofing tacks.


I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances.


This bolstered my ego.


At first, my political campaign focused on my country's foreign policy...


I was very critical of my country in the last war, and seized every opportunity to bash my country.


But what launched my rise to national prominence were my views on the country's economy.


I pretended to have a really good plan on how we could do better, and every poor person would be fed and housed for free .


I believed the free market, banks and corporations were responsible for getting us into this mess.


I decided to start making citizens hate them and, if they became envious of others who did well, the plan was clinched tight.


I called mine "A People's Campaign."


That sounded good to all people.


I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the traditional path of politics and was able to gain widespread popular support.


I knew that, if I merely offered the people 'hope', together we could change our country and the world..


So, I started to make my speeches sound like they were on behalf of the downtrodden, poor, ignorant to include "persecuted minorities."


My true views were not widely known and I kept them unknown, until after I became my nation's leader.


I had to carefully guard reality, as anybody could have easily found out what I really believed, if they had simply read my writings and examined those people I associated with. I'm glad they didn't.


Then I became the most powerful man in the world.


And then the world learned the truth.
