one day competition was saturday. i won with nothing special, basket rack 8 point buck. got about 55 pounds of meat off him, so my kids will be happy. my uncle? nothing.

the winner was to receive $500 in engelhards, but as it's my uncle, i let him off. i took 5 pcgs slabbed ms64 morgans instead. i thought he was going to cry when i was busting him about the prospectors.

now that meat harvest has occurred, it's time to get out the muzzle loader and go for a mount.

didn't take any, it was a shitty basket 8 pointer. :( 2 of the tines were even broken off halfway. it was a meat deer. i will, however, take pics of the muzzloader deer i shoot this year :D

good luck! i saw intense doe activity this year. i hunted from 6 am until about 3 on saturday. saw 9 does, all nice shooters. hope you get some!

Pretty much, typically we get 25-35lbs of meat off a deer. Granted thats just backstrap, hams and shoulders, but still there isn't but maybe 5 lbs of meat left.

Upstate NY. That deer weighed out dressed at 155 pounds. Yielded 72 pounds of steaks, roasts, and burger. Neck shots will do that for ya!
