The future is now

We live in an age where technology becomes outdated almost as fast as its released to the public. This technological revolution has its impact on the cars we drive as well. Here’s a look at some of the cars we might have only imagined would be possible a decade ago.

Google Driverless Car
Imagine driving to work while asleep. Or perhaps while reading the daily paper and sipping on a coffee. It's not something we'd recommend on your next commute, but if Google's driverless car hits the production line, it's something you might actually be able to do safely. The current driverless car, a Toyota Prius, is fitted with an expensive array of lasers and sensors to detect movement and speed. It can be manually overridden by applying the brakes or operating the steering wheel though.

If they maintained respectable buses that were secure this driverless personal vehicle crap is worthless. I still think it's worthless anyways.

Wouldn't this be a way for "them" to track your every move? I can see it now. Well GoD you've traveled 2,000 miles this month, here's your carbon tax bill. Fuck that shit.

In the future, with self-driving vehicles, I predict people will no longer own their own vehicles. What will happen is you will subscribe to a service, and you'll tell them where you want to go an hour or so ahead of time. Then, the company which owns the vehicles will dispatch one of it's closest free cars to your location.

It will be much less costly this way. Instead of having your car sitting idle for 20+ hours per day, the cars will be on the road constantly picking people up and dropping them off for the majority of the time. The more notice you give for getting picked up, the cheaper the ride will be. Of course you'll pay by the mile, taxes added on. Sorry GoD
