It's how much money Corzine netted from his theft of MF Global private accounts?

I'm not gonna google it as I refuse to use google but I'll guess.

A. The amount each individual actually owes to the debt.

B. People who voted in the last prez election.

C. The numbers of grains in the sand in hour of time, per an hourglass.

besides this thread being the 2 hit when you search? Yeah. Fascinating. It says it was posted 14 hours ago too but that is a lie.

Bingo. It is a number that hasn't changed since 1878. No interest.

Given this debt load the amount each individual (presumably) owes is slightly over a sawbuck.

Could that be why it is important?

when i do the search, it brings up documents from a long time ago (1905), when $350 Mill. was the total debt.

That IS the total debt. The one that you BELIEVE is the debt is that of an entity in insurrection. What does the 14th amendment say about paying debt incurred in insurrection?

So who has the outstanding notes? Would they still be in physical form?

You can still get them.

Or you may demand them:

Day-um - $5,950 for a one dollar note, that reflects the real rate of inflation?

That is very interesting, because if you take 350 million times 5,950 you get aprox 2 Trillion which happens to be the aprox. amount of outstanding Federal Reserve Notes!

Just scored a $5 1862 U.S. note in the $60 range.

Plan on sending it in to Treasury and asking them to change the amount owed. If successful the amount should come down to $346,681,011. If this happens this will be the first change in this figure in over 130 years.

Well then you have done more than your fair share in paying down the national debt... I just wonder how you paid for it? I was under the impression that you didn't use FRN's.

I avoid FRNs like VD, herpies and the plague. My policy is to use only gold or silver as tender of payment or when payment is due.

I am the president of a corporation. Corporations LOVE to deal in FRNs. In fact FRNs were designed and intended for corporations. While acting as an agent for another I have no problem with these corporate coupons. I'll even act as an agent for YOU. Send me a buck or so and I will purchase a can of beans for you.

As I don't ask anything in return for my service to this particular corporation they reward me by providing me "stuff".
