WEIGHTY PROBLEM: Heliga Trefaldighets Kyrka.

A hatch on a Swedish church tower inadvertently left open for some three decades resulted in 2 tonnes of pigeon droppings amassing in the tower.
The church's property manager says the layer of droppings was 30 centimetres deep when it was discovered during a May inspection of the Heliga Trefaldighets Kyrka in Gavle, 170 kilometers north of Stockholm.
Lennart Helzenius said on Thursday (local time) that church staff had been shocked by the sheer number of bags of excrement cleaners were removing from the tower. He says the droppings filled 80 bags in the first round of cleaning, and then just as many in the second round.
Helzenius says the hatch had probably been left open since the 1980s.

Holy Guano! Quite literally.

I like that green coppertone. Lots of buildings in that part of the world have copper rooves(sic). Looks good imo.

idiots are probably just going to throw it away.

they could layer it with straw (to add carbon), introduce some redworms, oh yeah, they will need some sand.

when the warm weather comes back, that is.

anyway, they could then have themselves a primo earthworm casting-based soil roof. AND GROW FOOD.

instead the idiots will treat the manure as garbage and pay money to have it hauled away.

i bet some of them attend seminars about "Green Living". they can go and nod their heads and talk "sustainability". 'bærekraft' in Norwegian.

AKA as Common Sense.

Yes it is nice. It was commonly used in 18th century houses/churches, until late 19th century, early 20th century. Seems to last forever, with little to no maintenance...
