Well not really. But at least abstains from voting on Palestinian statehood:


Germany and the Czech Republic have announced they will abstain in a vote on the upgrading of the status of Palestine at the UN, while they were largely expected to vote against the bid.


German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said in a statement on Thursday that Berlin decided to abstain in the vote, which would upgrade Palestine’s status at the UN from “observer entity” to “observer state.”

"We did not take this decision lightly. Germany shares the goal of a Palestinian state. We have campaigned for this in many ways... but the decisive steps towards real statehood can only be the result of negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians," he said.

Germany will not back Palestinian U.N. bid: government spokesman

(Reuters) - Germany will not back a Palestinian bid for a diplomatic upgrade at the United Nations, the government spokesman said on Wednesday.
The United Nations is due to hold a vote on Thursday on an upgrade of Palestinian status at the 193-member body to an observer state from an observer entity.


"We are assessing the situation and want as much agreement as possible with our European partners... But it is certain that Germany will not vote for such a resolution," spokesman Steffen Seibert told a news conference.
