Known for brutality and the murdering of millions of people in Cambodia, Pol Pot became an international criminal when he took government as head of the Khmer Rouge. While he was never brought to trial for the charges against him during his rule, he and his followers took the country into the deepest pits of despair. He combined the austerity of Buddha, the extremism of Robespierre and the leadership doctrine of Stalin to unleash waves of terror. Take a look at Pol Pot's violent rule of Cambodia at a time where money and private property were nonexistent.

Pol Pot (19 May 1925 – 15 April 1998),[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pol_Pot#cite_note-BBC-1)[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pol_Pot#cite_note-TIME-2) born Saloth Sar Pol Pot (Khmer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khmer_language): ប៉ុល ពត), was a Cambodian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambodia) Maoist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maoist) revolutionary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolutionary) who led the Khmer Rouge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khmer_Rouge)[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pol_Pot#cite_note-4) from 1963 until his death in 1998. From 1963 to 1981, he served as the General Secretary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Secretary_of_the_Communist_Party_of_Kampuc hea) of the Communist Party of Kampuchea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communist_Party_of_Kampuchea). From 1976 to 1979, he also served as the prime minister (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prime_Minister_of_Cambodia) of Democratic Kampuchea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Kampuchea). Pol Pot became leader of Cambodia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambodia) on April 17, 1975, and his rule has been described as being a dictatorship (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dictatorship).[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pol_Pot#cite_note-university1975-5) During his time in power he imposed agrarian socialism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agrarian_socialism), forcing urban dwellers to relocate to the countryside to work in collective farms and forced labor projects. The combined effects of forced labor, malnutrition, poor medical care, and executions resulted in the deaths of approximately 21 percent of the Cambodian population.[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pol_Pot#cite_note-yale-6) In all, an estimated 1 to 3 million people (out of a population of slightly over 8 million) died as a result of the policies of his three-year premiership.[7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pol_Pot#cite_note-Heuveline.2C_Patrick_2001-7)[8] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pol_Pot#cite_note-Marek_Sliwinski_1995-8)[9] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pol_Pot#cite_note-Banister.2C_Judith_1993-9)
In 1979, after the Cambodian–Vietnamese War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambodian%E2%80%93Vietnamese_War), Pol Pot fled to the jungles of southwest Cambodia, and the Khmer Rouge government collapsed.[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pol_Pot#cite_note-10) From 1979 to 1997, he and a remnant of the old Khmer Rouge operated near the border of Cambodia and Thailand (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thailand), where they clung to power, with nominal United Nations recognition as the rightful government of Cambodia. Pol Pot died in 1998 while under house arrest by the Ta Mok (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ta_Mok) faction of the Khmer Rouge. Since his death, rumours that he was poisoned have persisted.[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pol_Pot#cite_note-11)

How depressing! What a bunch of fucktards. It seems the guilty ones are still in control there and they will not allow a reckoning for the deeds of the past.

Evil sometimes has its own protection!

He should have been planted in a very big ant bed while still living and let the ants eat him a bit at a time.

Screaming his ass off until there was nothing left of him,

but bones!

There are some still walking this earth that need to have this done to them also!

It is sickening. Those in charge will go after any tin-pot dictator that threatens the central bank or business model of a multi-national corp. but these mass-murdering phycopaths are treated like over-zealous children who merely got a little too carried away with their societal reforms. Shows what a sick world we live in and just how truly corrupt and diseased those in power really are.

Bin Laden supposedly killed a few thousand and without a warrant caused multiple nations to wage war on the far side of the globe to effect his capture. I think if those in power cared that Pol Pot killed a few million they would have had the means to capture him. They simply didn't give a rat's ass. What's a few million useless eaters more or less? He was just a zealous fellow believer who got carried away. Boy will be boys. Now if the victims were Jewish......

He hid in the jungle and had plenty of informers ,he had raped the country completely ,there was nothing left of the place.

ive been to some of the places mentioned in this vid and my daughter spent a year there doing NGO stuff.Great place and great people but their thirst for revenge is lacking basically because so many where killed.Everyone in Cambodia over 30yrs old has someone affected by this.

one of the Khmer Rouge's strengths was the use of child soldiers

re-educate them early and relocate them to another part of the country ( to which they have no attachment to )

coming to America soon ?
