The framing may be resistant but everything else, including the occupants, would be fubar.

Depending what you put on the roof ,the roof can fly off ,the walls can tear apart but if the frame stays in one piece then I would think you would be relatively safe or safer than the whole place collapsing.

Just been to a place in Asia that has been thru a cyclone and the roof made from nipa (flax type roof) and the walls where sisal which is matted bamboo that rolls out was perfectly intact.

Thats in the photo ,you can put what you like on the walls and roof.

These thatch roofs and walls look flimsy but they are tied down very well and what normally happens in a cyclone is the whole house or hut gets blown away or over.
