my german shepherd Sparky has been shaking his head, groaning and scratching at his ears now and again for the last week. the ear canals are quite clean, no visible signs of wax, mites, discharge, etc.
i have read a few articles about OoO and ACV, but was wondering what, if any success the membership has had using these natural products on their pets, and specifically the formulations used and proper administration.
any feedback would be helpful...
thanks folks!!

Have you started feeding him a new bag of feed, new food, or high carbohydrate snacks, (like carrots, potatoes ect?) It sounds like he is having a reaction to feed. I had a puppy once who I was feeding a baby carrot every day and she got the ear thing going on, I stopped giving the carrot and the ear thing went away. Does your dog food have grains in it? You might need to feed a grain free diet.

actually we did switch him to a grain free no soy, no corn formula a couple of months ago, since he does have a mild allergy to corn.
the last time we went to get more, they were out, so we've been using up the leftover bag he was used to eating for a number of years prior to being with us. it does have corn in it, although it is not a primary ingredient. seems odd he would be reacting to it now after having eaten it for years with no problems. is it possible that switching to a better formula has increased his sensitivity to corn? if so, i'll give the rest of the bag away and see if they have more of the new in stock.
to clarify, his previous owner adopted him from the pound 2 years ago, tried him on a few different foods, found that corn made him itchy when it was a primary ingredient, but he didn't react to it in smaller amounts. this info was passed on to me when i brought him home.

3% H202 (Hydrogen Peroxide) in the ear canal (fill it completely) for 5-10 minutes in each side. Make sure they are on their side when this occurs so the H202 doesn't spill out. Food grade is the best.
You'll notice some bubbling, this is normal, and means it's working. This works for humans too.
I know this works in animals, but I don't own a pet, so I'd have no clue how to get a dog to lay still and "trust" you to do this, since it's not the most comfortable experience. It does work though. I've used it successfully on myself.
Make sure you research this before trying it. I'm don't know much about animals, so, um yeah. I just know what has worked for me.

Colloidal silver works on eye, ear and nasal infections. Even if he doesn't have an infection, it wouldn't anything.

From my personal experience with wheat gluten, I ate it for years and did not know I had a problem with it. I stopped eating it for 2.5 months. I ate it and it put me in horrid pain for 30 hours. I did not have that kind of pain before I stopped eating it.
The more one cleans out their system the more they are going to have reactions to food that they have allergies to. Puppy boy is probably the same way!

that makes a lot of sense, Ima.
and thanks to the others for tips too!
for now, i have given him a couple of drops of OoO in each ear, and he hasn't been bothering with it much at all. seems to be some improvement.
i'll see how he's doing in the morning, give his ears a good swabbing, and maybe one more application of OoO, then see what's what.
gotta get groceries tomorrow anyways, will grab some of the good stuff then...

Shami, this particular shepherd is a solid 100lbs, and while very docile, i doubt he would hold still with an ear full of H202 for 30 seconds, let alone 5-10 minutes. lol it would be a helluva work out for the both of us, lol

Been making my own with a Silver Puppy for years. People miss out on a lot by not using silver as cure. I put it in animal water all the time and I drink a few ounces a day. Have not been sick in years.
Peroxide-liquid oxygen. Germs and bacteria are killed dead upon contact with peroxide.
Here at home we keep a few gallons of Food Grade 35% on hand always. When needed we thin to 3%.
Me duck here.. As a long time survivalist and user of herbal medicine there are many things in our war chest to destroy pathogens without more than a heximer effect from the cleansing process. We do not use drugs.
The body is aerobic. Infections and cancers are anaerobic Very simple concept. Oxygen kills many bad things and so does silver.

He's doing quite a bit better, Ima. Thanks for asking! :D
i've been cleaning his ears with my finger wrapped in paper towel, (he doesn't like the Qtips, lol) then administering 2 to 3 drops of O/O every couple of days. once i add the drops, i massage his ears for a few minutes. he really likes that, lol
within minutes of starting this treatment, he was feeling better, less head shaking, etc...
i also have some ACV i can use if this doesn't solve the problem. but so far, so good...marked improvement.
