midnight rambler

Being that there were no adult survivors except for the one shot in the foot or leg (and who was apparently in surgery for an extended time) I was suspecting that specialty ammo had been used by the shooter. When I find out he was shooting strictly 9mm I was more convinced of this since in law enforcement circles 9mm FMJ (ball) ammo is notorious for lack of stopping power since it's such a great penetrator - it doesn't expand and just keeps right on going through what it hits leaving a .35" wound. IOW, nominal wound channel. When I was around those circles it was a given that 9mm ball ammo SUCKED and if you found yourself in a storm you wanted something that worked every time - as in anything but 9 sillymeter. With the wide spread use of what's now available along the lines of high performance self-defense ammo 9mm is definitely back into the game and VERY formidable. What's now commonly available is extremely devastating, e.g. Golden Saber, Winchester Ranger, etc. This specialized ammo is so nasty it makes one think twice about keeping guns that are around the home loaded with specialty ammo as the first rounds off the mag due to proximity to loved ones in case of a negligent discharge.
Now I just picked up on what the teevee talking heads were saying about a 6 y.o. in the immediate vicinity of the shooter - this 6 y.o. said "I saw silver bullets (shell casings)" on the floor. Now of course ball ammo doesn't come with nickel (silver looking) cases, only specialty ammo does. Ball ammo comes in brass cases. If the kid had seen brass, he would have said the 'bullets' were gold, not silver.
I predict we're going to get to hear all about these 'silver bullets' in the very near future and the gungrabbers are going to exploit this element as far as they can, and you know what that means.
On another note, I was thinking that perhaps the shooter used some of the skills he'd learned from playing video games to make it so much easier to effectively get 'kills' against completely defenseless women and young children. Of course the M$M will NEVER give that any time.
