A newly-released video shows a US police officer shooting a man eleven times killing him outside his home in California.

The video was recorded by a camera in the cop’s patrol car on June 8, 2011, but was released on Thursday, after police officer John Moody was cleared of shooting Ernesto Duenez Jr.

The 34-year-old victim was shot and killed in front of his Manteca home. He was wanted for a domestic violence incident earlier that day.

Moody’s defense team and police claim that the officer killed Duenez Jr. because he had a knife in his hand and Moody feared he might throw the knife at him.

The video was obtained and released by Duenez family’s attorney John Burris at a news conference. He argues that Duenez did not carry a knife.

Duenez family and their attorney contend that the video displays Moody’s use of excessive force along with the other officers’ failure to provide medical assistance to the victim in a timely way.

Burris said, “We have communicated to the Department of Justice that this man [Moody] should be prosecuted for murder.”

“He should be held accountable just like anyone else would be held accountable when they engage in this kind of barbaric conduct.”

Police brutality kills many people across the United States each year while most officers involved in the atrocities get away with murder.

How robotically programmed does a person have to be to be shouting "Get on the ground now!!" to a person LAYING on the ground after being shot 11 times?
