No joke, this was the lead story on the local nightly newscast (after the school shooting) ::)

I'm sure this sort of thing and much worse happens to whites 100's of times a day in our culturally enriched schools and neighborhoods, but we never hear a peep

AURORA - A 10-year-old Aurora boy is recovering from a concussion after family says two teenagers shouted racial slurs before beating him up on the way home from school this week.

Fifth grader Jadeen Hollumn says he's scared to walk home from school after what happened.

Around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, Hollumn left Sunrise elementary on the 4000 block of South Genoa Way and was walking to his grandma's house a few blocks away.

Instead of making it home, he ended up in the hospital.

Charish King said her cousin was walking home alone when two teenagers cornered him a couple of blocks from his elementary school.

"It's just so scary just not knowing. Not knowing why. Who? It's just a terrible thing. There were racial slurs yelled," King said.

Aurora police say Hollumn, who is 4 feet tall and 75 pounds, described the teens as white, 14 to 15 years old, one of them with two-toned dark hair.

"I thought I was going to get attacked." Hollumn said.

Hollumn said the teens punched him in the stomach and face.

"And they just kept kitting him. He blacked out and then there was a lady there that helped him. The ambulance and the police were called and he was taken to children's hospital," King said.

Medical records show a concussion. But otherwise the boy is physically OK.

Emotionally, he's afraid to walk home from school.

"Because I think they're still out there," Hollumn said, adding he is afraid they will "hurt me again."

Aurora police spokesperson Cassidee Carlson tells 9NEWS officers are investigating, but were not initially made aware of the family's claim the teens used racial slurs.

"When race is involved, it's extremely scary," King said.

King says her family wants justice.

"Somebody should have to face what they did to this little boy. We want answers. We want to know why," King said.

The boys left behind a hockey stick which police have taken as evidence.

Hollumn is out of school for a week recovering from his concussion.
