With S America's record of eliminating dissidents why would they be concerned if they ID'd the correct people? Most countries down there seem to go for genocide on a grand scale. Why let facts get in the way?

In the hands of a crooked government, sophisticated speech and face recognition tools would prove useful for tracking down political dissidents and building biometric databases on activists or probing investigative journalists. SpeechPro says, for that reason, it only works with “trusted law enforcement agencies.”
Damn. It won't be coming here.... the company that makes these says they only sell to “trusted law enforcement agencies.”
It's just not fair that some third rate backwater country has way cooler high tech stuff than us. :)
