Sorry I got Sidetracked
I still remember a story my mom told me about my Grandpa who is 94? born in 1918, he came from a big family.. 12 kids, born in a potato wagon crossing through Wyoming and grew up during the great depression coming out here to be a prune picker In Cali, I have said it before,(they)( the family was always super excited to get a onion, pepper, or stuff to make corn bread back then) Anyhow my grandpa shined shoes and did any odd jobs he could to make money for the family, his dad was a POS, a drunk alcoholic, anyhow as I remember the story my grandpa as a child 6 to 10? saved a few pennies in order to buy a little yellow tractor he saw in a window-shop, he had saved and saved for it , and one night his dad came home drunk and found the money he had saved and took it and went out and drank the money away...
I can't quite remember, but I know when he was in his 50's somebody bought him that little yellow tractor, this man was like a father to me, always happy and joking, always singing to me in that old red ford pickup, It had a column shift, The song.... "I was dancing with my darling to the Tennessee waltz" I used to go with him to get hay for his horses, Yep he always had a horse for me to ride, I LOVED to go with him.... the best days of my life shoveling shit and going to get hay with MY Grandpa, to fill out the check since he only knew how to sign his name ) I am pretty sure he only went to 6 th grade.
Grandpa fell the other day and at 94 got his hip replaced. He is home now and doing ok my cousin is taking care of him.... God Bless you , you great man , Mr. Patterson.
HAH lol he told me one time, when he was growing up horses were going out and the model t was coming in.
Say a few prayers GSUS for my Grandpa .
xoxo
