Dunno if you have people in your family that do this for Christmas. That clear tape can be pretty sinister, but this pretty much trumps anything I've ever seen.

Lot of work for a pair of shoes.

Hahaha@Mamboni.

I used to do stuff like this to an old acquaintenses son but not quite as extreme. Clear shipping tape is always a winner in my book.

Yes the infamous clear shipping tape. I had to call a truce with my brother on this at one point. It all started out of frustration because we kept guessing each others gifts without even opening them.

That lead to tossing marbles, and what not, into the box to mess up the sounds, then items were taped down down to prevent anything from moving.

When that failed, it turned to a box inside a box, inside a taped box, only to get find another box with an inch or two of additional packing tape. Merry Christmas it's a wallet!

yes good brand. Those are the original design DB's but I think there were two companies made them. With the flat jellyrubber sole. Then they came out in black with a ribbed sole.

The footwear of bogans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bogan) all over Australia in the 70's and 80's. ACDC fans. You can still get them here and there but the black ribbed sole ones are very expensive these days.

The American equivelant of a bogan might be someone with that Jersey thing going on.

I had jungle boots when I was a kid. Totally different thing but I'd like to find some of those. They seem to have disappeard these days.

Indeed Clark's is a good brand, my current shoes I have practically worn every day for the last three years, never done any treatment of the leather and they look better today than they did when they were new, and very comfortable. Clark's!

Clark's! How do the soles hold up? I've been buying doc martens since the 90's, and the latest pair the soles are wearing like crazy. They used to be indestructible...time to shop around.

I used to wear a lot of mil-surplus boots, the maryland state trooper boots were the best I ever owned, went to re-buy and the new pair was made in china and not as comfortable.

Clarks is always nice, I have a pair of low top dress shoes from clarks, they are wonderful.

As for the clark's boots, I like a more functional boot, I need more than 3 laces =)
