cabela's still has ar-15 on their site. bass pro only has the remington r-15 as the only "offered" ar style rifle on their site.


It does make sense that the big box "outdoor" stores would cut this out of their retail line. They keep the yuppies buying northface and extreme gear while not being distracted by the scary black rifles. I would guess that the profit margin on chinese clothes is much higher than on guns and ammo.

I was in the owatonna cabelas on Wednesday. Picked up some at accessory stuff, guys at the gun desk said more ar's should be in next week, so this must be a rumor cabelas wise. Either that, or they hadn't been told yet.

It is easier to control the gun sellers that it is to control the public.....ammo will be next.....and then the reload gun powder, after all you can make pipe bombs with those.
