the wife and i decided to stay home tonight, have a bonfire, a few shots of Gibson's Sterling and a couple of joints to ring in the new year. it is a nice, mild evening here, and i do love a nice fire on a winter's eve... does anyone have big plans for the evening, or just doing the home thing?

as i was watching the sun set on the last day of the year, i began reflecting on the events of the last twelve months. There has definitely been a lot of strange goings on this year, and silver has yet to launch, but there have also been some damn good things to happen this year as well.

we got rid of the long gun registry here in canada!
we will now have LCBO express kiosks in grocery stores in ontario!
and Dalton McGuinty retired!!

on a personal note, the year was a general success with more work than i had the previous year, finally bought myself a grand cherokee, replaced a bunch of tools, adopted a beautiful 100lb german shepherd named Sparky, finally got the wife her ring, lol... and most importantly, i was able to get myself 100% completely debt free!

there were some definite low points to the year as well, but life goes on, as do we. tomorrow is a brand new day, a brand new year, and the journey that we call life awaits.

i for one can't wait to see what it has to offer!

That is a huge accomplishment, becoming debt free!

We're staying home. My MIL is in town. My younger son turns 8 tomorrow so we'll be celebrating his birthday tonight/tomorrow.

I'm enjoying a Sam Adams now and wish I could have a drink with everyone here. Happy New Year everyone!

FS, it sounds like you have much to celebrate, party on!

Happy New year my friends! If we're lucky we'll be doing this same thing again 365 days from now. My optimism is in short supply though.

I'll be right here, staying far away from amateur hour and the arm of the law, drinkin Bud, diggin' kind Bud and ponderin' it all.

Travel Plans for 2013...anyone been?

Next year, I'm planning on going to some of my favorite places...

I have been in many places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone.

I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there.

I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my children, friends, family and work.

I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too much on physical activity anymore.

I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there too often.

I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.

Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there more often as I'm getting older.

One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age I need all the stimuli I can get!

I may have been in Continent, and I don't remember what country I was in. It's an age thing. They tell me it is very wet and damp there.

PLEASE DO YOUR PART!
Today is one of the many National Mental Health Days throughout the year. You can do your bit by remembering to send an e-mail to at least one unstable person. My job is done!

Life is too short for negative drama and petty things. So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

From one unstable person to another... I hope everyone is happy in your head - we're all doing pretty well in mine!

Happy New Year!!!

We made it through 2012. Great accomplishment.

Anyone more optimistic today than they were this time last year? It seems like a lot of stuff was supposed to happen that didn't.

Watching the movie "Four Rooms", since it is a New Year's Eve movie, and it's on netflix streaming.

;D

If anyone hasn't seen it, it is worth it for the "fourth room" alone...

Kathy Griffin simulates oral sex on Anderson Cooper on CNN’s New Year’s Eve live coverage
Co-host Griffin, who dropped the F bomb in 2009 and stripped to her undies last year, outdid herself Tuesday night by discussing the anchor’s genitalia on air

Poor guy is so uncomfortable...does she know Anderson Cooper prefers to be the one doing what she's trying to do?

Kathy Griffin tries to kiss Anderson Cooper's crotch during CNN's New Year's Eve live broadcast

Memo to Anderson Cooper: Your resolution for 2013 may want to be to stop inviting Kathy Griffin back for CNN's New Year's Eve live coverage.

Griffin, who dropped the F bomb in 2009 and attempted to strip down to her underwear last year, outdid herself Tuesday night in her quest to shock the veteran newsman by referring to his genitalia on air and later attempting to simulate oral sex on her openly gay best friend.

Cooper dropped the ball — metaphorically speaking — a few minutes into the broadcast when he brought up a Twitter follower's comments that there could be a drinking game whenever he giggled at Griffin's jokes.

"I'm going to tickle your sack," his comic co-host immediately said. "You can say sack [on air.] That's not bad.”

“I don't know what you're talking about. I have no sack of gifts here," Cooper stammered. "A sack of Christmas presents. I did not bring a sack of Christmas presents."

But that remark was like chum in the water for Griffin: "Do you call your private parts your Christmas presents," she asked in mock surprise. "Typical hot guy."

That proved a hors d'oeuvre for the main course two hours later.

Shortly after midnight, Anderson cut to a live report by correspondent Gary Tuchman from Eastport, Maine, where the town's custom is to kiss a sculpture of an eight-foot sardine that drops from the top of a building much like the crystal ball in New York's Times Square.

The camera then cut back to Cooper and Griffin in time to catch the self-proclaimed D-lister trying to kiss Cooper's crotch.

"Did you drop something," he asked.

“No, I was kissing your sardine,” she answered.

But the vulgar humor didn't stop there. “I can do this all night long," Griffin said as Cooper grabbed her and pulled her to her upright.

“I'm going on Letterman in two nights, and he wants a moment,” she deadpanned.

The awkward tug of war lasted a couple more excruciating seconds before Griffin said, "“You know you want to."

“Believe me, I really don't,” answered Cooper, no longer giggling.

At least this year — unlike 2012's stunt in which Griffin attempted to strip to her underwear — she kept her clothes on.

Yes happy new year to GSUS, doom didn't come in 2012, but my 9 year old son, figured out how to solve Rubiks cube in the last days of the year, and I am so proud of him. Myself I never learned to do more than one side and two sides down, and nowadays I can only do one row... My daughter (13 in January), is trying to learn playing ground control to major Tom, on guitar, I promised her an electric guitar for birthday if she masters it, she is really talented, and my wife is learning to drive a car, which isn't easy at age 44, but she needs it as we are moving to a Micky Mouse type of town in Sweden in the summer, and I will go and work in Istanbul two weeks out of every three, thereafter...
