After seeing the video about the modified shotgun shell, I was impressed.

It seems like it's part art, part science, and that much of the work in this area is improvised.

I was wondering if anybody has set up tooling to cut an exact depth for a 12 gauge, or a 20 gauge.

And after experimenting, what depth of cut gives the safest (for the shooter, not the shootee) and most repeatable results.

It seems like they're cutting about an 1/8" of an inch. But it seems like the kind of thing (with those explosive forces) where thousandth's of an inch matter.

From the look of it, done right, it turns a shotgun shell into a .700 caliber projectile. Pretty impressive !

To those who know more than me on this subject, is this safe in something like a 870? What about a Browning A5?

They wont feed in auto loaders. Not well at all, anyways. They are good for pumps, bolts and break actions though. Still, slugs do exist......

I wouldn't put them anywhere but directly in a chamber. They make slugs for a reason.
