Wow. The financial drama continues to get more bizarre. Congress blows 182 billion dollars in taxpayer money to rescue AIG from years of greedy and irresponsible activity, and now AIG is claiming they got a raw deal? You couldn't make this $hit up.

(Reuters) - American International Group Inc , the insurer rescued by the U.S. government in 2008 with a bailout that ultimately totaled $182 billion, may now join a lawsuit against the government alleging the terms of the deal were unfair.

AIG Generously Decides Not To Sue The Country That Bailed It Out (http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-01-09/aig-generously-decides-not-sue-country-bailed-it-out)

Submitted by Tyler Durden (http://www.zerohedge.com/users/tyler-durden) on 01/09/2013 - 15:15 While Ackman and Loeb battle it out over HLF, the other potentially firework-prone battle has died an ignominious death. The WSJ reports (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323442804578231660629820142.html) that AIG has generously decided not to bit the Treasury hand that fed it just a few short years ago:

*AIG WON'T JOIN GREENBERG SUIT CHALLENGING U.S. BAILOUT :AIG US
*AIG WON'T PURSUE CLAIMS ITSELF :AIG US
*AIG SEES FILING FORMAL STATEMENT WITH COURTS IN COMING WEEKS
*BENMOSCHE SAYS HE PERSONALLY TOLD GREENBERG ABOUT AIG VOTE

It seems that common-sense prevailed for once - or did Benmosche and team get a friendly tap on the shoulder from outgoing Treasury head Geithner that stirring up a few million pages of Treasury documentation would not be good for anyone?
