Citations Affected: IC 35-31.5-2; IC 35-47-16.

Synopsis: Indiana firearms freedom act. Provides that a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that: (1) is manufactured commercially or privately in Indiana from basic materials; (2) can be manufactured without the inclusion of any significant parts imported from another state; and (3) remains within the borders of Indiana; is not subject to federal law or federal regulation, including registration, under the authority of the United States Congress to regulate interstate commerce.

Effective: July 1, 2013.

Was introduced on the 7th. current status - In Committee

Yep Back in 2008, only took Indiana 5 years to catch up.

If you're already next door in ILL, come on over neighbor. :) We have some of the best gun laws in the nation already on the books. Such as Indiana's castle doctrine, you can literally shoot a cop for entering your house without a warrant. (http://www.pakalertpress.com/2012/04/12/indiana-governor-signs-bill-into-law-allowing-citizens-to-use-deadly-force-against-police-officers/) The FOP just loved that one.. *sarcasm* The Castle Doctrine also applies to your vehicle and you have no reason to retreat and if the criminal survives he cannot sue you.
