Well, the first thing that he should had done is to tell the cop that he had a gun........the cop should loose his job for telling him that he would shoot him in the back.

one of the comments stated that if you have a ccw the officer is alerted when he runs your plate. if this is indeed true, then the cop was obviously aware of the person's ccw permit, and was waiting/hoping for him to slip up, or he hadn't run the guy's plate and did not know of the ccw.

the former demonstrates an extraordinary level of opportunistic predation by the officer, while the latter demonstrates an even more extraordinary lack of ability and/or training to perform his "duties" in a professional/respectful manner.

i'm not sure which bothers me more...

I know in Oregon anyways that it comes up when they run your plate. Even then, I've never had an officer even mention it, or ask me when I've been pulled over. As long as you keep you hands visible and don't act like an idiot it shouldn't be an issue.

It's that way in Texas when they run your plates it will show that the owner has a ccp, and if the owner is driving or in the vehicle when stopped. He/She has to tell the cop they have the permit first thing and they are armed or not!

Isn't FL an open carry state anyways???

Edit: It is not an open carry state unless going to or from target practice, gun shop or repair.

So yet the guy did violate his CPL license.

No, that guy DIDNT violate. Florida has a "brief exposure" clause that, although its left to the officer to "decide" what "brief" is, that was cleary a brief and unintentional exposure.

We also do NOT have the CWP tied to our drivers license or paltes. Its totaly seperate from a seperate licensing department as the DMV. We do not have a public registry of firearms of any type outside of very specific FOIA request (for trusts and corps.) and some class three stuff

This was totaly absurd, this situation and was WAY out of control. Last I heard, GOA or some one is trying to get federal charges on the officer and I think the ACLU was picking up some of it as well (for w/e the hell thats worth).
