Whether you are looking to hoard, stock up, or profit
There's stores you should check with and for when thier deliveries are coming in.
Many say they don't know what will be on the delivery, so you may have to be at the store when they open.

Dick's Sporting goods
Acadamy Sports
Big 5
Bass Pro
Cabela's

Bass Pro had empty shelves Friday, except for shotgun, while random Big 5's have been my honey holes. Limit five boxes per customer though. Big 5's also pretty much only have pellet and shotguns, although the last one I visited had a Remington .308 for under $900.

Yes, Big 5 seems to be less visited, or something. I'll check out the one by me the morning of their next shipment.
Independent gun dealers are a waste of time.

Anyone that lives near Academy Sports should be calling them. http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Catalog_10151_10051_-1_329210305
They were the last one's to have .223/5.56 at select stores. If I thought I could get 100 cans of 5.56, I would have flown in and rented a car to get it back.
Buy 100 x $209 = $20,900
Sell 100 x $550 = $55,000
Profit = $34,100

A place near me sells a shit load of 7.62x39 ammo for about $0.30 a round, but it's TulAmmo. I've heard a lot how TulAmmo is pure crap though.

Should I buy it?

Big 5s orders are random. They have no idea what's coming in. One lady behind the counter said that only three boxes of ..223 came on the last shipment. (I was looking for my younger brother who's playing the grasshopper right now).

Not much profit in it, but you may not see that price much longer?
I don't think you can get hurt and will be able to sell it.
It's selling for .50 a round on gunbroker http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=326445514
