I read somewhere last year that if you have a carry permit(in Fl) that they will send the SWAT team in for ANY possible reason that they feel they need to talk to you.

I think the incident took place in Palm Beach County where they gunned down some guy because he was wanted for questioning. Turned out they had the right name, wrong guy. But he is dead now, and no doubt the sh00ters got a medal.

I thought you had to advise LEO that you had a permit right up front don't you?

From what a couple trainers (retired cops) said, they say have your cards ready to hand the cop, then if asked about weapons or asked to get out of the vehicle to state that you have a concealed carry and it is on your right hip... or wherever it is at during that questioning. Not sure what todays law states, this was from 20 years and 3 years ago.

In some states yes, in some states no. In Florida, we have no "duty to inform" which means we do NOT have to notify a cop that we are carrying, at all, unless specificaly asked, then I suppose you could always just refuse to answer questions.

Or plant your face on the pavement to avoid being shot in the back.

In Michigan, the laws states that you must inform the police that you are licensed to conceal carry as soon as they approach you in your vehicle.

In my state you don't have to inform an officer that approaches you. They train the cops now to pull their guns, scream "get down on the ground" and do other crazy shit if they see a gun. It's probably a good idea to inform them right off to avoid having them throw a screaming fit. I've watched them training new cops to do just what you see them do in that video.

I've been packing for over forty years. I was stopped by an HP many years ago before they were taught to go crazy if some one is packing. I had a 44 magnum under the seat of my car. The handle was sticking out where he could see it when he walked up to my car. He asked for my drivers license and pistol permit. I didn't realize the handle was sticking out and I asked him how he knew I had a revolver. He told me he'd seen the handle but he was polite and didn't go crazy or act like they do now. I don't remember why I was stopped but I didn't get a ticket for anything either.

I don't like cops and don't like to be around them. I think most of them don't like to be around people who carry if they're not cops. I've watched their eyes focus on my gun when I've been around them open carrying.

I think the ones who have screaming fits and have a problem with people carrying are cowards at heart. Why else behave in such a fashion? When I am pulled over, and it is often, I see respect from them for the most part. I just can't imagine how such cops as the one in the video can be as they are. What would they rather have, a bunch of mewling, ass-kissing bootlickers as fellow country-men or proud, independent, resourcefull free men. Really, let's expose them for what they are.

Stay in the car, roll the window down, and keep your hands on the steering wheel.

Buddy screwed up on all three.

Immediately jumps out of the car, then turns his back hiding the contents of the car, and his hands.

There are smart ways to handle a ticket, and there are not so smart ways.

Cop over reacted with the shooting comment, and the prone position.

We've all seen the videos.....guy gets shot in the head while in prone position. I think maybe to shoot the cop would be self defense at that point. You don't know what the ape-shit crazy, steroid ridden, bull faggot will do to you.

Agree, and it's a really bad idea to give him a reason to want to.

Turning your back when carrying a gun, and he knows this, then reaching in to the car is a really bad idea. Hands disappear, what's going on?...this is what they are trained for....staying alive is no joke for the officer as well.

Getting out of the car itself is a really bad idea. Better to be sitting in a comfy drivers seat than face down in the dirt with cuffs on.

They are scared shitless of the day we stop taking their crap. I've seen them act it out. Inside they want control and they are just scared, frustrated little boys when they can't have their way.

They live by and hide behind the gun. True cops have to be aware, but threatening someones life isn't a part of that.

When asked if he was going to be arrested the answer was "probably", both the redneck and the cop were a complete mess.

Here's some good advice on how to not get your ass kicked by the police. This is good! Ha!Ha!

Sure, but you would react the same way with training if someone did an about face, and you lost contact with their hands. You have to intimidate the criminal to gain the upper hand psychologically. That is training. This is a total stranger that immediately got out of the car to confront instead of remaining calm, and seated.

Not everyone they pull over is a good guy right? A lot of them are total POS gang banging drugged up scumbags, and that one time you got lazy about protocol in a potential situation is all it takes to end your life.

Hating on the man is great, but you have to have your head based in reality as well.

I have never in the history of law enforcement since a situation where a cop has EVER backed up citizen when a shooting occurs.

Even if the fact bear out plain as day. They will do one of two things

Remain silent( i cant recall a time this happened)

Imediately back up the officer and his action.

So if that is the case.....when a incident goes down i do just what they do.

Remain silent or back up my fellow citizen.
